I'm a witch..! [ In a sense she dislikes being called a kid, at least, when she's being looked down upon.. but on the other hand, it's better than being some stubborn boring granny. ] Do you really think age matters to those?!

[But she doesn't look confident saying this. The truth is that she is a mother who cannot love her child properly and the head of a floundering company mired deep in debt.]

[If she was still the old Rosa, the Rosa who didn't realize how much Maria meant to her, she would be blaming Maria at this point. Maria, the child who whined and cried and got on her last nerve. Maria, the child constantly distracting her from her work. But she can't blame Maria anymore.]

In a way, you can say that Beatrice helped me. I can now tell what's really valuable in this world.

[ .. Well, this is.. sure different. Because Evatrice is sure Rosa was beating Maria almost right before she killed the two of them, what could've been different for Rosa to have made such an one-eighty?

She makes a sound that almost sounds like retching, but it's more meant in a mocking way. ]

I can't expect a cold-hearted witch to understand how strong love can be. For her...I would even fight you and the other Beatrice.

[Perhaps there is something to the old adage that love can conquer all, for when Rosa stares at the Witch, she feels no fear. Instead, all she can feel is pity and disgust for this creature.]

Has it never even crossed your mind to try? Or perhaps, you have never seen the strength that love can grant.

[During Rosa's childhood, her family have been loveless. Father, Mother, and the siblings had all been hostile to each other. Yet, the Witch of Rokkenjima could not have followed Rosa to the outside world. She could not have seen Rosa raising her daughter. And if alternate universes were taken into account, she definitely had not seen Rosa's final struggle against the goat butlers.]

[ And while there's some disgust for the concept of family - who needs that? with her own bad experiences of family, being ridiculed and yelled at all the time only to take out her own frustration on younger siblings, and then the real Eva growing older to start her own family, some dream she's never shared - there's almost some odd pride about it too. As if it makes her feel superior. ]

Something like love..? Don't make me laugh, you can only rely on yourself!

[By now, the Beatrice in the video has been distanced enough from the memory of Eva that Rosa can speak to her without flinching.]

It is true that Maria cannot protect me like I protect her. Yet, her encouragement gives me the power to protect both of us. You could almost call it our special magic.
