I have a question for you. Both of you. I hope that's okay.

Um... I have a question. And a request. Is it possible to make things in the tower? Food, I mean. I know they provide us with food, but I'd really like to try making something of my own.

[She frets a little, but doesn't hesitate much when she speaks up again.]

... And that's where the request comes in. I was hoping someone would be able to teach me how to make something. A... a cake, to be exact.

Hmm, a lot of different things. Things I found in my dreams.. like this cake.

[ she points to the thing on her head as frosting slowly starts to melt and drip down her forehead. ]

How does that kind of power work? You just have to dream about it...?

It's a little like.. [ .. another hum, really weird to explain this to people to whom it apparently is not just normal. ]

I'm still not sure how that works, but it seems like a very useful skill. Does it have any kinds of limits?

I don't know. Maybe there's some things I wouldn't be able to bring.. I've never tried.

You should try. An ability like that might really be able to help you out if you're in trouble.

... Oh. You're right, it can already defend me.

[ She takes a sliight step away from the network terminal, and in her hands a raging chainsaw appears out of nowhere. ... Yup. ]

[Holy crap she was not expecting that!!! She actually jumps back a little bit in surprise.]

A... A chainsaw... [man, aren't those usually the weapons of horror villains? Not kids....] That's... wow. That's definitely the best kind of weapon to protect yourself, I guess...

[ Honestly, like this the contrast between the two of them is even bigger - Urotsuki is just.. blank no matter what, apparently, even the chainsaw is nothing special to her. ]

Hmm, I've always used it in my dreams. Sometimes it wasn't good enough, but.. usually it was, so I thought it'd be good here too.

There's sometimes dangerous things. So I need to take care of them.

[ so it's practically the same as saying 'yes', except she doesn't want to necessarily call them monsters.. ]

[Fighting off dangerous things in your dreams, and having to deal with the dangers of the tower... this poor girl.]

Is there any way for people to help you with that?

[ She shakes her head, but there still actually doesn't seem to be much emotion from it - as if she doesn't really care. ]

There isn't, but.. I'm fine. I've always done it by myself.

[ although she does notice the fact the girl is asking again, so she stares curiously. ]

... Why? Do you think I'm not sure..?

No. I mean... I don't know.

[She frowns a little.] It just sounds like something pretty intense to go through alone.

Maybe it is. I never really thought about it. [ her fingers move to twirl one strand of her bangs idly. ] But there was nobody to help me either way, so.. I never expected any help.

... What about now? Do you have any friends here who would be willing to help you?

Yes, I have some friends now. Some really, really nice friends, and a boyfriend too, but..

[ ... ]

I don't know if I want to bother them with that. They might get hurt. [ one already did before, too - for her sake, and she feels guilty over it even now. ]

[Any hint of a smile on Hakuno's face just sort of. Fades.]

... I can understand how that feels. Seeing a friend hurt right in front of you is one of the worst possible things.

[She can still recall, even several months after it happened, the sight of Saber being struck down by Assassin. The fear and uncertainty over whether she'd be able to continue living or not...]

But... even so. I think it would hurt them more knowing that there's a way to help you, but something is preventing them from doing so.

[ Maybe - for once - she does notice a change in someone else too. As if the other girl is getting a little more serious, or sad.. why? Is she thinking of it happening to her too sometime? It's the only explanation with those words, although the last part makes her think too. ]

... You really think so..?

[She nods.] Yeah... I know so. I was in a situation when a friend was hurt badly... it was almost certain she was going to die.

[Listening to Saber's pained, labored breathing as she slept fitfully that first night was another thing she'll never, ever forget.]

But despite the odds, despite the danger I had to put myself in... I still did what I could to help her. Since... that's what friends and partners are for, right? They're supposed to help you when you get stuck in really bad situations.

Yeah, I.. think that's true too. I think it's important to help friends, but.. when someone helps you and then gets hurt over it, it hurts, doesn't it..?

[ She's mainly thinking of the whale attack. Kidou had saved her, but.. that had also meant dying on his part, dying for her sake.. And then there had been Tara all the way back in the pods who had given herself up for everyone else's sake.. ]

I don't want to see that anymore..

... Then I think... it's important to get stronger, so that you can protect them as well.

[That's part of the reason why she made the original post. She wanted the Sabers to teach her some sort of fighting so that she won't be helpless, and that she can back up all her friends if she could.]

That's what I want to do. I'm sure you can too.
