Um... I have a question. And a request. Is it possible to make things in the tower? Food, I mean. I know they provide us with food, but I'd really like to try making something of my own.

[She frets a little, but doesn't hesitate much when she speaks up again.]

... And that's where the request comes in. I was hoping someone would be able to teach me how to make something. A... a cake, to be exact.

Because it's just weird to see people smiling here and smiling at me. Ugh, you wouldn't understand what I mean.

[She's right, she doesn't understand. Something tells Hakuno, though, that this isn't just Rin's personality coming into play here... but if it's not, just what went on in Rin's past to have her be so unused to people smiling at her...?]

Well, I'm sorry to say that I think you'll just have to get used to it. It's a little hard to completely avoid smiling.

I could just knock out all of your teeth. Then you'd be unable to.

People can still smile without teeth, you know. It would just look really weird if they did.

They'd look like an old person. I can even push you beyond your magical ability and make your skin leathery as well as your hair white if you really want!

... Is that seriously something that can happen? That's a little creepy, if you ask me...

If a mage pushes their body, they can end up changing the color of their skin and losing the color in their hair. I haven't seen it personally, but it does exist in theory.

Oh. Um... thanks. [Hakuno doesn't flush or look particularly embarrassed. She's just... surprised that someone who once thought she was so plain she wasn't a normal person is complimenting her like that.] I think you are too. Even though your appearance is pretty different from what I remember.

Ignorance is what it was. Her white hair was proof of darkness that lingers within her, as were her eyes, so how can anyone find beauty in them? Only those who were twisted like her Lancer ever could.

She'll have to make Hakuno pay for making her cheeks warm though. Somehow. ]
