[ on the screen is a small, unassuming character. the only startling thing about him is the large, tired blue eyes peering in. there's the glint of a chain beneath his clothes when he stirs, and over his body is a worn green cloak.

when he speaks, it's slowly, carefully. he looks pale, a bit shaken still from the network but his voice is sure: ]

While I haven't been here long, I'd like to leave as much as anyone else.

I do not believe our homes are truly destroyed.

[ frodo's eyes lower, before he speaks again: ]

Not only that but I should like to know how many come from the world of Arda. Or 'Middle-earth'. To me, it is my home.

And..if any of you have seen a hobbit about my size, with lighter hair, a bit stout, with a frying pan? His name is Samwise Gamgee. Or perhaps a strange creature, who calls himself 'Smeagol' or 'Gollum'. He tends to like the shadows. I am..responsible for him.

[ it's sad how he's used to this. first the ship, now this strange place. it seems his road is far longer than he could have imagined, and frodo quietly despairs a little in his heart, though it stubbornly clings to hope. ]

If not, I would ask if any come from a ship called the 'Tranquility'. I had been dwelling there for a time, and would wish to know of it's fate.

[ he seems to hesitate for a minute, but the question is necessary ]

Should you be from Middle-earth..I would ask if the Fellowship is a familiar word to any of you.

[WHOOPS, that was back to indignant, sorry. That sober look from him has her switching tracks completely, though, giving him a sunny smile and a friendly wink.]

I'll keep an eye out for 'em! Or, if you wanna be totally sure if they're here or not right away, I could do ya one better and do a scan of the Tower right now! The catch is, I'd need to know more about the people I'm looking for--usually some pretty deep, personal things work best. And...I don't know if you want to share something like that over the computer system here.

[ he's silent on that. the tranquility was much the same. but that gives him pause. is it necessary that she knows such things about sam? about anyone? frodo hesitates ]

Yeah...sorry, but that's the only way it can really work, at least with powers like mine. I have to really know who I'm looking for, or else it'll be impossible to tell them apart from all the other people here.

My name is Frodo Baggins. A pleasure, Miss Rise, despite our circumstances.

Yep, powers! It's a liiittle complicated, and I can explain it more later if you really want, but I can do a couple different types of scans, depending on what I'm looking for.

[...Wow, he's pretty trusting. Good thing for him she's not dangerous. Like, at all.] Well, since I suggested the meeting, it's only fair that you pick the meet-up place! Just make sure it has a decently high ceiling, like the gym or one of the lounges, okay?

[She gives him a bright smile.]

Yeah! Nice to meet you!

[ frodo is far less trusting than he had been. but he has the means to escape, and presented any option of finding the whereabouts of friends would be wise to take, regardless. he knows they would take the same risks for him--had taken the same risks for him. he could do no less.

the hobbit paused ]

Then I will find you there. Is there any preference of when?

[ she seems friendly enough..]

[Rise doesn't know about ~~THE PRECIOUS~~ Frodo's escape method, though, so she might have to say something about not being too trusting later, just in case. He seems like a nice enough guy, if a little hesitant and withdrawn.]

Sooo...where did you wanna meet? [She's not sure which place you picked, but it doesn't matter to her, SO...]

And we can meet whenever you want! Now's fine for me, but if you're busy, we could work out a time later. But we'd probably better do it soon, before something else weird happens and gets in the way, or makes it too dangerous to wander around the Tower.

Then sooner, rather than later. The place..perhaps the cafeteria, wasn't it? It seems harmless enough.

[~~Terrifyingly cute, maybe. X'D~~ Rise...doesn't have anything in the way of weaponry, at all, so she just heads down to the cafeteria, snagging a cup of tea once she's there and sitting at one of the tables to wait for Frodo.]

[ he takes notice of that brightly colored hair soon enough. a small, unassuming thing, frodo is, as he calls to her politely, but not without it's wariness: ]

[Rise looks up from her tea, beaming at the slightly edgy-looking hobbit. That had been pretty quick--she hadn't been waiting more than a few minutes. He must be pretty worried about his friends, not that she could blame him, knowing what she did about this place.]

Hey! So, there's tea and plenty of other stuff here if you want something to drink while you talk--it might help you think.

[She'd intentionally picked one of the more isolated tables, and since it was between meals ~~for those beings who operated on the concept of three meals a day, in any case--it was probably just about tea-time in the Shire~~, the cafeteria was pretty empty. Hopefully it would stay that way, and they wouldn't have too much of an audience for the light show that typically came with summoning a Persona.]

[ he manages a small smile in greeting, though the worry doesn't fade from his blue eyes. ]

Tea even here? I should be glad to drink some.

[ he nods to the table, then glancing around a bit curiously until he finds the kettle. he'll be heating up water, glad it's not so different from the kitchen in the tranquility. as it boils, he seats himself beside her. ]

I'm curious what sort of skill you possess to make such a thing possible, Miss Rise.

[Okay then, let's see if some cheerful small-talk puts him at ease just a little.]

Well, there's tea this month, anyway! We never really know what they're gonna have to eat here. Like last month, just about everything was pumpkin-flavoured for the whole month! Which wasn't bad, though it did start to get a little old after a while. But November's been really great!

[...And down to business already, that's probably good. She doesn't blame him; if she hadn't been able to search for her friends herself, finding a way to figure out if they were here too would've been the first thing she did.]

[...And ohhh boy, how to explain a Persona and keep it quick and simple... ~~You'd think she would've gotten used to explaining this by now, but lolNOPE~~]

I can summon something called a Persona, which lets me use a lot of neat skills. And one of the things I'm best at is finding people and things! The only catch is, I have to know some defining characteristics about whoever I'm looking for, or else it's impossible to tell them apart from everyone else.

[...That was simple enough, right? And not nearly everything she could say about what a Persona really is, but that's not what Frodo's worried about right now.]
