◎first quest { video }
[ on the screen is a small, unassuming character. the only startling thing about him is the large, tired blue eyes peering in. there's the glint of a chain beneath his clothes when he stirs, and over his body is a worn green cloak.
when he speaks, it's slowly, carefully. he looks pale, a bit shaken still from the network but his voice is sure: ]
While I haven't been here long, I'd like to leave as much as anyone else.
[ quietly: ]
I do not believe our homes are truly destroyed.
[ frodo's eyes lower, before he speaks again: ]
Not only that but I should like to know how many come from the world of Arda. Or 'Middle-earth'. To me, it is my home.
And..if any of you have seen a hobbit about my size, with lighter hair, a bit stout, with a frying pan? His name is Samwise Gamgee. Or perhaps a strange creature, who calls himself 'Smeagol' or 'Gollum'. He tends to like the shadows. I am..responsible for him.
[ it's sad how he's used to this. first the ship, now this strange place. it seems his road is far longer than he could have imagined, and frodo quietly despairs a little in his heart, though it stubbornly clings to hope. ]
If not, I would ask if any come from a ship called the 'Tranquility'. I had been dwelling there for a time, and would wish to know of it's fate.
[ he seems to hesitate for a minute, but the question is necessary ]
Should you be from Middle-earth..I would ask if the Fellowship is a familiar word to any of you.

i would bind myself to hope so that i am not lost to despair. i would not deny being prisoner in this tower, for though we are given more freedom than is customary, the tower itself lends little to generosity.
but a prisoner need not remain in his cell, nor believe all his captors tell him with naught but words to sow trust

You are free to believe what you will, to cling onto what hope you will. But the longer would will linger on your hope, the worse will your despair is when this hope shall be extinguished.

i have accepted this reality, that we are to be held here without leave as playthings in a child's cradle. the destruction of a world, however, is not a reality. it is a claim made by those who fetched us away, and i unlike you do not fault or chide any who would or would not believe such heartless and cruel words of comfort
i cling to the hope that we will not remain here indefinitely. that we will be released, or find our own exits, whether it be to return to our homes, be it dead or alive, or to be taken to another place entirely. even should i come upon a dying homeland, despair will not find me

Or will you take action? Will you move against our captors? Will you defy morals if that is the only way to see your vision accomplished?

and what of you/ do you seek an exit, or do you prefer to stay and taunt those who have yet to decide/
no subject
Me? I am the only who has tried something before and who keeps working to such a task. Taunting those who have yet to decide tend to reveal their cowardice or bring the best of them to the light.

what result came of such efforts that you are inclined to attempt again/ what purpose have you in determining the cowardly and the restless/

If you want to know we came close to free this place from the administrators. My purpose in determining so is to know who to take and who not to take to make sure the next attempt will be a success. The first would have been such a success if it had not been for the wrong persons.
