What is strength to you, or what it is to be strong?

Alternatively, who is it that has right to rulership, or to command? Do you agree with the sentiment that those who are strong are superior and thus have greater rights than those who are weak?

And if that is the case: may the weak become strong?

People have different strengths and weaknesses. I think a person is truly strong when they use their strengths in ways that can overcome their weaknesses. That is my opinion though.

As for who should rule..ideally, people should live equally, not lording over or commanding others.

That's a practical way of viewing it.

This too would be ideal. However in the end people will inherently flock to someone to lead them. Who is the better leader: one who provides an example in their strength, or one who rules because that is all that he does?

I suppose so.

If everyone is truly on equal ground, they will not have to look to someone to lead them. However..a better leader would be one who helped and provided an example.

Even if they were on equally ground, none would believe they were on equal ground. They would work to see which was still greater, and flock to those who were greater than themselves.

To provide an example is acceptable. Help, to show they might be relied on, weakens people.

Sadly, it is true that people would still hold that believe. However, if they could bee reassured that they are equal when that comes up, then that problem might be avoided.

And it only hurts people if they overly rely on others.

And how will you reassure them of this? By providing this reassurance do you not suggest you have a greater understanding of the situation, and thus inadvertently show yourself to be what they might look to in a leader?

I suppose. There is no shame in working with others to reach a mutual goal. But there is shame if you are only capable of being strong in their presence.

I will reassure them by pointing to places where they are equal and explain it clearly to them. And if they think of me as a great leader, I shall remind them that I too have faults and am not suited to being a leader.

I do not think it is shameful...but it is troublesome, both for the person and the people around that person.

And then they will praise you for your humility. And because you show you have humility then surely you are the greater man. Is that not the way of things?

I would then show them that I am not humble or have humility. If I were stronger, I might have a place as a leader of some men, but as I am now, I am not.

And just because one person shows some 'humility' does not mean that they are the greater person. It just means that they may be a bit humble and probably have other shortcomings.

No. It does not mean they are a greater person.

But the masses will interpret it as meaning they are.

From what you have told me of who you are, you more than most should know this to be true.

...I know that that is true. However, that does mean that I shall not try to show them that their interpretation is false.

It will end as it did before under the manner you describe.

...Perhaps it will and perhaps it will not. It depends upon the choices the people make and what they decide to do.

And do you think they, as a group, will not choose what is most convenient over what is best?

Even if it seems unlikely, I have to hope that they will. I still believe humanity will make the right choices.

They're more then capable of it when left to themselves.

It's when they rely on the voices of others to guide them that they become fools.

I do not think they become fools...but relying on just one voice to make all the decisions and throwing away free will is harmful.

No. The one voice does not make a decision for all.

The one voice makes a decision for himself and himself alone. And another voice makes a decision for himself and himself alone. And another. And another.

While that would be a nice way to live, in my universe, things do not work that way. It would be nice if they did though.

It can be however.

I believe man is not such a different creature even when worlds divide him.

It can be, and I hope it will be, but it make take a long time. However, hopefully it will be someday.

..Man is not. The forces surrounding him may be different, however.

Not by much, from what I have seen of those who play in your world.

You have not seen much then. However..despite Wilhelm, I am sure that the humanity in my universe will make the right choices.

The man you call Wilhelm...I have met such a type before.

He lies dead now, at the hands of another and myself.

Mankind rose up to kill something like him in my world. Something I expect is even greater than he is.

I do not doubt such a possibility could happen in yours.

..I do not think it is possible to truly kill Wilhelm..but hopefully humanity will be able to break out of his cycle eventually. I do not doubt it could happen either.
