[Action]

[Those who live in room 4-12 (if there are any) or people simply passing by will be surprised to find a new arrival here, dressed in that bodysuit, and purple collar latched snugly around his neck. Not that Ryoji seems to notice, he's still peacefully dreaming away...

For now.

As soon as he wakes up, all hell will break loose, once Ryoji realizes he's alive, his world has been ended, and he's stuck here, unable to escape and keep the residents safe.

...Wake him?]

[Video]

[A few hours later, Ryoji makes a post to the network. The video feed reveals his face, still pale from all the distress, that collar, and his shoulders, which are stiffened. He works his lip for a long while before speaking, not really knowing what to say.]

I... ended everything. The Fall happened, and I was right, no one could stop it. N-Not even Minato-kun.

[He sighs shakily, lowers his head. There's a few moments of silence, but observant listeners will hear sobbing and a whispered mantra: "I'm so sorry, so sorry..."

Then he looks up, smiling weakly, all signs of sadness desperately hidden.]

So... would anyone like to h-help me out? I'm lost...

Mmmmf? Five more minutes, 'Nato...

[Ryoji almost shifts over, continues sleeping, but then he realizes... hey, that didn't really sound like Minato. And even if it did, since when would he be waking Ryoji up? Aren't they both...

Bolting straight up in bed, panicked. H-Hope the two of them don't end up colliding and bumping foreheads.]

[NOPE that was a bit too much of a surprise for him to exercise his rusty graceful dodging skills, so they'll have a rather unfortunate forehead collision. He reels back and his hands fly up to hold his poor battered forehead, and he quickly falls to one side...

Okay so it didn't hurt that badly, but there's no problem with hamming things up every now and then!]

Ow—! I think I might be dying!

[NOPE THAT WAS THE WRONG JOKE FOR THE MOMENT. Ryoji looks absolutely terrified. He caused more trouble again... everyone he touches is cursed.]

I-I'm so sorry! I-If you stay away from me, m-maybe you'll be safe!

[Oh no, that is definitely not the reaction he'd been fishing for...! He sits back up and while his hand is still on his forehead, any dramatic pretense of being seriously injured is gone.]

If it's luck you're worried about, this entire tower is pretty unlucky. Don't be so concerned! It's not you.

[That may have been a small relief any other time, but Ryoji's starting to lose it, his breath shallow and voice getting louder and cracking with the stress.]

N-No, it's not luck... it's just my n-nature. I can't help but hurt people...

And now I'm back... Alive again... and she's still here, she'll take over again and I'll destroy everything and-

[Still think the obviously mental teen is better than the angry fishman?]

[He's starting to severely doubt that... No preparations had been made to deal with a nutball today, nevertheless, so he's taken a bit off guard by this stranger's equally strange mannerisms.]

Hey, hey! Do you even know where you are right now?

[Ryoji certainly wasn't always a nutball. In fact, he usually wasn't at all. But coming back to life when all you wanted was to be dead kiiiiinda messes with you.]

I-I don't know, I just know that it's a world, a world I could end, and no one would stop it and-

[~~Clearly a big slap across the face is in order.~~]

[SADLY most of his slaps are saved for his useless servant that he loves dearly, but it is very clear that he's going to have to do something to grab this kid's attention.

As such, he will helpfully clasp Ryoji's shoulders with both hands. NO ESCAPING NOW.]

Listen. I don't know what things were like where you came from, but this world is entirely different! Completely, one hundred percent! [He actually doesn't know that at all but disassociating the "now" from the "then" seems like a good place to start.] This world isn't going to end any time soon; not without the people here getting out first.

[NOOOO HE HAS TO ESCAPE. The contact makes Ryoji jump a little more, pure terror running through him.]

N-No, don't touch me!

[He struggles a bit, but then hears the rest of what his roommate has to say and blinks, a little skeptical.]

...T-This world is safe? Even with me here?

[He almost draws his hands away during the struggle since it isn't like he wants to freak the poor guy out by making him feel restrained, but then things seem to resolve themselves, and he's left feeling a little more at ease.

He only hopes the same can be said for Ryoji soon enough.]

Even with you here. I don't understand it well, but I think that the people in charge of this tower kind of nullify any authority you had in your own world.

...It does? T-Then I can't hurt people here?

And she can't either?

[Ryoji is getting a little calmer, but surprise surprise he still sounds crazy. ~~Everyone does when trying to explain a Persona game plot~~]

[He wants to be like I DON'T KNOW WHO SHE IS... but that would actually mean putting forth effort to hold a genuine conversation with someone who is clearly out of sorts. That doesn't seem like a particularly thrilling prospect to him...]

You can't, not at all! Well, I mean, if you took a lead pipe to someone's knee you could still hurt them but... nothing on a grander scale!

[Sorry. Once he recovers, you two may be able to have a conversation without him going crazy. He may get depressed again, but no random babbling and shaking, at least.]

I-I hope so... I don't want to hurt anyone anymore. That's the reason why I was dead.

[That wasn't something he had expected to hear, and he drops into a brief silence. Revival within the ship itself had been explained to him, but this? Not at all, and it kind of hits close to home.

His smile is a little softer in the next second, even if it won't last long at all.]

You shouldn't worry so much, in that case. I mean, I know it's hard, but I guess you could think of things here as a— [Fishing for the word, he lapses into a momentary silence.] ...A fresh start, maybe. It's not perfect here! But I think you could make it work in your benefit, if you really wanted.

... You think I could make up for it? For what I am?

[It's an intriguing thought, but... he couldn't lie again, pretend he's normal like everyone else, not dangerous at all.]

[Curiouser and curiouser. Without knowing the details he doesn't feel comfortable with a blind "yes!", and he doesn't particularly feel like prying, either.

In the end, he settles with a simple:] I think if a person knows their sin, it's possible to atone for it.

[Even if Oz didn't pry, it'd be likely Ryoji would admit it anyways, to scare him off, but at the moment, even he feels that maybe he should just... let things be peaceful for a while.]

I'd really like to atone...

S-Sorry for panicking. It was a bit of a shock, ending up... alive again.

[A soft hum of acknowledgment follows and he scoots back so he's sitting on the edge of the bed instead, feet swinging over the side.]

You don't need to apologize for it, but you do seem very alive to me right now, so it's probably not a shock that's going to go away any time soon.

Well, maybe it'll start to be a good shock. I'll get to see Valentine's Day and White Day, for once!

[Ryoji grins a little more. Wow, only living for two months means you miss out on a lot...]

[And that sails right over his head... But story time is better than Ryoji-freaking-out-everywhere time, so he'll pursue this path of conversation with vigor!]

What are those, holidays of some sort?

Ah, yeah! You don't have them? They're really nice.

[Yeah, sorry, Oz, Ryoji just needed to panic and you were there. Hopefully in the future he'll show some restraint.]

[It's a strain he can definitely understand, at least. He won't be holding anything against his new roommate!]

Nope, I've never heard of them! What kind of holidays are they?

[Oh, good. Ryoji doesn't want to upset a roommate and a potential friend, even if he is a little unsure about getting close...]

They're about romance! On Valentine's Day, girls give chocolates to people they care about, and then on White Day, the guys give presents in return! It's a lot of fun! I just wish I would have gotten the chance to get all the sweet homemade goodies~

[Now that's a holiday he can get behind, if the instant boost of enthusiasm is anything to go by.]

Oh, that's quaint! Really romantic! What months do those holidays fall in? We simply must have them here, I think everyone would benefit from something like that!

Yeah, they're really exciting! One's in February, and the other's in March, so we have a lot of time to plan for them!

[Ryoji's practically bouncing with excitement himself. These two are going to get along wonderfully.]
