Well, it would be great if monsters were the only thing you had to watch out for, but the people in charge like to make things more difficult every once in a while, usually by messing with people's heads.

Then there's the people who were taken here but weren't very sane to begin with...

Despite all that, people actually revive in here, so if you don't mind risking it, I guess it really is safe.
