Okay, what did I just--

[He clears his throat.]

Hi. I’ve been trying to hack this terminal for an hour or so, to see if I can verify the information I’ve been given. It’s not really working, so I guess the next option is to ask around.

[He rubs the back of his neck, clearly not used to having to ask for help.

He’s not alone, either. Behind him someone happens to be hovering past the doorway silently at first, but then backtracks and stops in the entrance. Since his back is facing her he probably won’t notice, but she’s definitely noticed him. Her eyes open wide and her jaw drops with an audible gasp.

Yeah, her surprise is definitely apparent.]

Nightwing?! You are here??

[He jerks around in surprise, already brandishing a pair of escrima sticks.]

Who are you?

[Who she is might just have to wait, because (heedless of the weapons, she’s just that excited) before the last word has left his mouth she’s already halfway across the room, throwing her arms around him in relief and accidentally sending them both against the terminal. The last thing that the feed picks up from either of them is a shout (“What in--?!”) from “Nightwing” and a relieved string of WORDS (“I am so relieved to see you are undamaged!”) from the weird orange girl before the feed cuts off rather abruptly.]

[OOC: Answers will come from both Starfire and Nightwing!]

I am not certain if Somarium would be considered a separate universe, or simply a separate dimension. I can only hope that if it has been come under danger that I am not the only one who was spared. [Ugh, she does not care for this at all, but they need answers.] This... "Animus", is it a dangerous place?

Hopefully.

Not if you stick to the right floors, or if you can take care of yourself. I mean, sure, there's monsters running around at night and a couple of fucked up floors, but it should be relatively easy to stay alive. Even if you stray, there should be one or two people ready to jump over and protect you. Just watch out for the experiments.

[... Huh, that sounds much more lively than the day to day life in Somarium, and a few steps above even what she's used to back home. Monsters roaming around, and that's part of the normal every day routine? They made it a point to deal with such things immediately back home, meaning that she would indeed have to be cautious and vigilant here.

Experiements? That does not sound very pleasant... [DO NOT LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT.]

They usually aren't, even if they can lead to exciting things. Just try to soldier on and hope nothing goes too horribly if you get caught in one. People usually get brought back if they die during it, though.

These experiments are fatal? Is there no way to stop them? Has no one tried? [Sure doesn't sound like there's a way to stop them, and people probably HAVE tried, but she has to be certain. Some people might like that kind of thing. :| Unfortunately she's already familiar with the being brought back from death part, she looks worried all the same. Shhhheee might just have some work cut out for her, is what she thinks. She can't just NOT interfere.]

We all tried. Years ago. It...didn't always work. Still, it definitely depends on the administrator. Dax's experiments usually aren't fatal.

Our overseers? How many are they in number, and might I know their other designations?

Five of them. Jason, Ruana, Riki, Dax, and Zo. Jason, Riki, and Dax take turns running the tower though Ruana steps in once in a while. They've all got different styles. Like I said, Jason is the worst.
