Because This Will Surely End Well... [Video]
[Lancer is slowly getting better at this network thing, though he still doesn't know how to do anything fancy with it and doesn't really like it. He would much rather be talking to people face to face, but he knows in this case, that is just not a feasible option. Not if he wants to find what he's looking for in an acceptable amount of time.
The face that greats the network this afternoon is somewhat pale and uncertain, though very focused on his task.]
Forgive my intrusion, but I was wondering if I could ask for some assistance from the residents here. After last week's experiment, I would like to try and find a few things to gift to others. I arrived shortly before the experiment started and so, I'm afraid I don't really know where to start looking for these things.
Specifically what I'm looking for are things related to tea and serving it, but I'm open to other suggestions if you have them. I don't have a whole lot since I'm new, but I am a skilled fighter among other things and very willing to offer my services in trade for any assistance I receive.
I thank you all in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

(OOC: This post is open to anyone who would actually like to help Lancer with his task, but also to people whose characters would like to troll, hurt, or otherwise take advantage of this poor sap who apparently still hasn't learned his lesson about being so trusting.)

Re: [Action]
[Her first name is out before he knows it and so he just lets it go. His voice is so soft and tired that she might not hear anyway. She's always so kind to him no matter how he treats her. So kind it hurts because he knows he doesn't deserve it.
Lancer feels tears pricking at the corners of his eyes and he takes a deep breath, forcing himself to focus on what she's trying to teach him instead.]
That makes sense. The order is probably what would have tripped me up. I wouldn't have known what to do first.
[Action]
[Thanks to nearly losing all her senses back in December, Tohko's hearing had improved a little bit from what it once was. She heard what he said..and how it sounded. A little concerned, she looked at him and put a hand on his shoulder. If she saw tears, she didn't mention them.]
I had some trouble with figuring this thing out the first few times as well. Machines and I never saw eye-to-eye..but these are pretty simple, so I've managed to figure out how to work them.
[Mostly.]
Is there anything else you want to know about them?
Re: [Action]
Is there anything you else you think I need to know? This is all pretty new to me even with the information the Grail gave me when I came into the war. These computers may be simple to you, but they are very complex to me. That I figured out what I did on my own still amazes me.
[Action]
Well..to be honest, they're simple compared to the ones we have back home, but I was never very good with the machines back home either. But..I suppose necessity forced me to at least know how to handle these things. But it's good that you've gotten better just by trial-and-error! Experience helps out a lot too.
Let's see..do you know how to send just audio recordings?
Re: [Action]
No, I do not. And I was only able to just text you back because it automatically set itself to that when I hit reply. While I will probably always use video since I prefer talking face to face with people, it can't hurt to know how to set the other ones.
Oh, for the filters and such--how reliable is it? I have heard others mention that sometimes it doesn't work or that the administrators can still see everything. Is this true?
[Action]
The filters sometimes don't work because people use them incorrectly or because others hack into them. And the Administrators run the networks, so they can see everything. It makes sense that the ones running the system could see everything.
And I'm sorry that I caused you trouble with the text..it's the function I usually use, since I'm more used to words and typing than the other functions. However, to use audio, you have to click that blue button on the corner of the screen, say what you want, and then click it again. It should record what you say, and you can then upload it to the network.
Re: [Action]
No, no, I'm not upset that you used text. I'm just glad that whoever designed the system was smart enough to realize those using it might not know all the little tricks right away. Because of that, I was able to respond in kind.
I guess I'm not surprised. The administrators control so much else about our lives that it only makes sense they control this as well. In the end, it doesn't change. If it's something really important it's best to find the person you need and talk to them face to face.
[He bows to her.]
Thank you so much for helping me with this. If you can teach cooking as well as you can teach the computer I will be a master chef in no time!
[Action]
[At the bow, Tohko will just chuckle and, taking advantage of the opportunity, pat his head.]
Oh, you're welcome! I'm always happy to help out. And I don't know if I can turn you into a master chef, but I can teach you how to use the stove and other things. If you want, we could start those lessons right now.
Re: [Action]
I would like that if you have the time. I have a lot of things to think through, but I am letting them overwhelm me and I'm freezing up so that I can't think enough to get anything done. A break from thinking will probably do me good.
[Action]
[Says the girl who thinks way too much about some things.]
I have the time. As I said, I'm always happy to help out.
Hmmm...Do you wanna have Tohko put up a closed log to do their kitchen hijinks in or just stay here?
[Lancer suddenly sweeps her up into his arms.]
But enough about that for now. Shall I carry you down to the kitchens or do you need to stop somewhere else first?
Either way is fine with me, to be honest, bu if you want a closed log, that's fine too!~
Good, I'm glad to hear that. But if you ever break down again, don't be afraid to lean on me. I'll help you out.
[Hopefully 'Lancer' won't touch Tohko's right arm-which is in a sling-when he scoops her up. If he does, Tohko will bite back a small cry of pain.]
Well, we should probably grab a few recipe books first before we start cooking. But that shouldn't take me too long!
I will leave it up to you. Just thought I would ask. :-)
[He is extremely careful not to bump her arm. He is also curious to know what happened, but he's not sure if it's his place to ask so he remains silent about it.]
So we should stop at the library first or is that something you would have in your room?
I'll put up a log then, so that we don't clutter up the place. ^^;
[If he asked, Tohko wouldn't mind, as she had already told someone else about it.]
We would have to stop by the library. I don't have any recipe books in my room right now.
Sounds like a plan. :-)
[Lancer adjusts her in his arms just slightly to be sure she's secure. As he does, his eyes fall on her hurt arm again. He should ask, make sure she's not in any danger, but later. For now, it's off to the library they go.]
Alright then!~
[Tohko was secure before Lancer adjusted her, but more security never hurt or bothered her. She prepared herself mentally so that she wouldn't be in a daze after Lancer's high-speed travel.]
