[Hazy though the reception may be, a pair of dark, deep brown eyes pierce the veil of the deliberately bad reception.]


Attention, denizens of the tower Animus. I am Doctor VIctor von Doom.

I am the greatest scientific mind the world has ever seen. And here as well, of this I have little doubt. As is obvious, I have now become entrapped by this incessantly mysterious "Tower of Animus" against my will as were all of you. A mere glance at the place speaks volumes of words.

[His voice is strong, proud, and most of all, quite demanding. It's not even muffled by his steel mask, a crude parody of a human face.]

But know this--such a thing does not deter one such as I in the slightest. As a matter of fact, I am actually quite intrigued by all of these people and their..."gifts"...for I have not seen many of them before in my lifetime. Knowledge is power, and the more that is learned, the far more powerful I am viable to become. 

Some of you have already had the glorious fortuity to have met Doom upon his arrival. And to you, I say, that was merely a speck of my true majesty. For in the coming weeks and months, great change shall come to this place. So I shall abide to you all this one warning, and this one warning only--

Do not get in Doom's way. I am a busy man even now, and I do not tolerate incompetence. Only in the briefest times when I have a spare moment may you ask me of a small favor should you desire it. I am, above all things, magnanimous, should I gain something in return. Such is the way of a boon, and I am not one to ignore such...opportunities.

Simple, yet satisfying:

I need information on the power of the denizens of this Tower. Those entrapped by the curse, more specifically. The creators I shall deal with should it suit me, but currently there are too many random variables of which I am yet ill informed.

The latest exploits. Experience has taught me that putting too many superhuman individuals in one place for too long is a powderkeg of adventure. And there are always those who seek it. This rumor, I ask, should be any small talk made about a person from somewhere or some place who is none too subtle about their own capability. Leave their beliefs for me to judge, as that is unimportant for the time being.

Yes, I believe that can be arranged. For now, I know of little, though I would be careful if you encounter anything that calls itself a "youkai" or "oni." Those which I have met either wield powers of men's minds, or considerable physical prowess, enough to shatter metal and stone.

Telekinesis...and most likely telepathy. This is a good start, if I do say so myself. I shall prepare to enchant my mask with anti-telepathy spells. After using this particular spell for so long, I consider myself a grandmaster at the art.

As for the superhuman strength, that isn't unusual. This armor of mine is crafted from no common steel, assassin.

I do not know, yet, how many of their ilk are present. I know only that one specific one is not here... which I think is fortunate.

Of all kinds. The dark recesses of what I have seen would apall most people and then confound the rest in plausible impossibility. And yet, I alone as a genius am able to comprehend it all.

[Something is being worked on in the background. Static and sparks are heard coming from his end.] My resources are direly limited in these circumstance, but such a thing hardly disrupts Doom. And since you have serviced me, so shall I service you. *static static* By noon tomorrow I shall be in the library. You know which floor. Come, and Doom shall remind you that he will not forsake his promises. Ever.
