[So far, life in the Tower hasn’t been so bad for Jungo Torii. He has good company in Jungo the feline, and he’s rather fond of his roommates when he’s had the time to speak to them. He’s met some nice people close to his own age in the Tower, too. Sure, the monsters are a bit of a drag, but he’s kind of used to them. What he’s not used to is the limited menu. He should be able to make chawanmushi whenever he wants, and he can’t here. It’s a travesty.

With that in mind, he stands in front of one of the terminals for a moment. He’s seen other people talk with these things before, so...]

Hi? ...Hey. My name is Jungo Torii. Mm, it’s nice to meet you. Let's do our best together.

[It’s best to just get that out of the way, he thinks. He should probably smile, too, but instead he just looks angry.]

I’ve been here for a few weeks, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to feed my demons. They’re hungry, too, I think. I’ve never fed them before, though. Does anyone know what they eat?

[He looks back over his shoulder, unintentionally allowing the camera to see the space behind him where a samurai cat(?) is waving his flags around obnoxiously, almost like he’s pretending to dance. Jungo looks a moment longer at Neko Shogun, then turns his face back to the terminal.]

...And does anyone have kamaboko? Jungo usually eats chawanmushi, but I can’t make chawanmushi without kamaboko. All the food is heart-shaped now...it makes me sad. And Jungo’s going to be sad without his favorite food. If anyone knows where to find some, I’ll make you delicious food, too.

[He's actually talking about his cat there, but who can tell? He's silent for a long moment before he nods.]

[Jungo doesn't even remember being sick in the first place but oh well.]

Ah. Now it's confusing.. [ Two Jungos?! What does she do now-- ah, wait. ]

Jungo #1. [ Pointing at the screen at him. Then pointing in the distance where the other thing is. ] Jungo #2.

There.. now I get it.

Jungo is behind me?

[Now it's just going to get worse. He turns over his shoulder to look at Neko Shogun, and he jumps onto his chair and waves the flags harder at being spotted.

I don't see him.

Well, Urotsuki is used to weirdness. So instead of being like HE'S RIGHT THERE WHY CAN'T YOU SEE HIM!! she is instead trying to think of what kind of puzzle this is, how to solve it.. ]

You don't see anything at all..?

Mm...I see my demon. I don't see Jungo anywhere, though. Jungo's a small cat.

[Maybe they'll get to the bottom of this yet?!]

Ah. So that cat is not a cat after all.. what a crafty cat. [ EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT A CAT? Make up your mind, girl. ]

Maybe the smaller cat is hiding somewhere from the demon cat.

Jungo's out today. He's very independent.

[Jungo says that like he's proud, and he kind of is. It's so easy to avoid monsters during the day that Jungo wanders around and comes back just a couple hours before it gets too dark. It's an easy relationship.]

This is Neko Shogun, my demon. He won't hurt anyone, though.

You have your very own demon..? [ She doesn't seem surprised by the whole demon deal - if anything, she's curious. ] I've never seen someone actually have one of them like that.

[His own demon? He knows he owns one, but he's never really considered it to be actually owning one...]

Mm, he's mine. I know a lot of people who have them back home. They won't hurt anyone here, though.

[chainsawn]

[ She leans closer to the terminal's screen. Uncomfortably close, really, any closer and her face will be pressing directly against the screen. ]

Can I get one too?

[Well, that catches Jungo by surprise. He almost thinks she's trying to whisper to him, so he leans really uncomfortably close as well. She's telling him to come closer, right?!]

You want one? I don't think you can, but...why?

[chainsawn]

[ Two people leaning close to their monitors.. Let's hope people don't walk by and wonder what's even going on. ]

They look interesting. .. Sort of friendly too..

[Society will just have to accept it!! There's nothing wrong with their ways of life!!]

Back home, they fight a lot of people...but these are mine. There's all kinds, though.

They fight? [ .. Headtilt. Watch out what you're doing with your head while you're this close to the screen, Urotsuki!! ]

Do they fight for good or for evil? Are they superheroes or supervillains..?

[This is going to get a simple answer from Jungo...]

They hurt people. They're not friendly.

[chainsawn]

Ah, that's too bad. [ But she doesn't really sound devastated. If anything, it's like a little kid that just heard they'll have to wait a few minutes more to go to the zoo or whatever. Just slight disappointment at best. ]

I thought it'd be nice to become friends with one.

You'd want to become friends with a demon? [He's never really heard of anyone trying that...even he fused them and bought new ones more like they were a tool than a pet.] Why?

[chainsawn]

Why not..? [ She blinks at him, as if she really does think it's a good idea - and that it's normal to think that to boot. ]

Don't you want to have friends?

These demons aren't friendly. [He's never even considered the possibility of being friends with one of them, considering they just...attack anyone and everyone.]

I like having friends. I'm very thankful for them, but I'm not friends with demons.

[chainsawn]

... I think it's sort of sad though.. I mean, if nobody will be friends with the demons, then they won't have friends..

[ She's just thinking too much about this. ]

Won't they be lonely..?

They usually have demon friends...but they hurt people. They hurt other demons, too.

...It's all very sad, I'd like it if they didn't hurt people.

.. Then maybe you should teach them.

Teach them to not hurt humans.. and then they can make lots and lots of friends.
