There has been a weeding recently and in one week is an event known as "Saint Valentine's Day", a holiday associated with romantic love. It is an occasion in which lovers express their love for each other in a special manner, most often depending on their culture and past.

But what is love? How would you define that feeling? I have been told about love before, but it is a most... complicated emotion and no explanation I have heard truly conveyed an understanding of the feeling.

I want to protect my friends and comrades, yet I do not feel love. Does that make friendship the equal of love, or at least a related state?

I understand your further parts. When in love, you wish for the happiness of the loves ones. This makes sense. But again, this may apply for friendship as well as a variety of other state.

some people even call it one kind of love
but when you've got romantic love
you want to givve them even more than what you want to give your friends
you would choose them over the entire world

or if you love two people both in a romantic way and know you have to choose

I suppose this would be more delicate. Incest is regarded as a crime in nearly all civilizations I have encountered.
