[ frodo despite his quiet nature, his habit to keep to himself in this place, is still present. he looks far more worn (worse) than last he spoke, his eyes shadowed and blue, face pale. in his hands is a book, acquired from the library, and yes, he's aware of what's been happening.

you'd think he's speak grim words, with such a worn looking body, but instead his voice is light, faint but present: ]

Do you have a story? One that perhaps you've grown up with as a child? Or one that's stayed with you. 'That really mattered, ' As a dear friend might say.

I think I should like to hear of such stories, if you can still remember them. I asked a place before this one the same question, but each person has a different tale, or so I'd believe. What of yours? 

[ if you can still remember them in a place as dark as this, they same to grow darker still, the places he goes. ]

I think everyone faces those things at some point in their lives, whether they realize it or not.

So they do. I'd wish some wouldn't, though. If there had been no need for it.

[ like his cousins. like sam, like anyone who had been innocent and meant to dwell that way. innocently.

..So do I..pain and suffering are horrible, even if they do have good points and endings. However, sometimes, you cannot.

I imagine many people have face many of those things and haven't been able to avoid some suffering..but..this Tower isn't full of just suffering and despair. Not all parts of the journey are full of pebbles in your shoes, and not every sad ending is completely sad.

So there isn't. There are good people to be found still, even here. Selfish of me to admit, but there are those here I thought never to see again. I'm thankful that I was able to meet them once more.

Of course. No matter where you go, there will always be good people hanging about, even if you don't realize it. And it's not selfish that you wanted to and are happy that you're able to see your friends again here! That's normal. Even Hell can be made a Purgatory with the right people.

While no one from my universe has come here, I'm happy to see that people from yours are.

[ he could say that he'd bring them danger no matter what. as long as he carries the ring there is no safe way with him, no happiness that he can offer if only the destruction of the horrible burden that twists his body, breaks him bit by bit. but he can't. because frodo needs people, needs them to remind him that he can come home someday, that there is a finish line..there someday, he can rest.

but he's silent, thoughtful. it's kind words spoken, so he knows the words to be true. he's speaking to one after all. ]

Yet I imagine you've made some good companions, just the same? It was the way of things before I came here, in another place I hadn't ought to have been.

[Even if it brought them danger and ruin, there were probably a lot of people who would still stand by Frodo and try to make sure that he didn't crumble. Or, if he did, that he didn't crumble much.

Tohko paused before she typed. That was true..she had made a lot of wonderful, precious friends here..but there was no denying that she wanted to see her family again.]

That's true..I have made a lot of wonderful friends here..but I didn't know that you had come from a different place like this before! You're not the only one I've met like that, to be honest.

I came on a ship, of all things. One that sailed through stars.

[ he sounds incredulous, but there's fondness along with an old sort of memory. it was a dark place, much like this one. ]

I see..while that was probably dangerous, it must have been wonderful to travel through the stars and see them close up as you flew by!

[Ah..so this was another person from Tolkien's universe. Interesting. Not that she would mention it.]

Actually, I could imagine a hobbit doing things like that. Others may not..but some of them are adventurous, if put into the right circumstances.
