What is love?

How do you know if you love someone? Is it really as powerful as they say?

Love is powerful enough to turn friendship in to rivalry, and it can change things for the better or worse.

Add this to the list of things to never tell Gawain ever. She'd skip this over to avoid how awkward it would be--and, oh, it's awkward enough to make this post--but if she did so it might raise suspicion and so she replies:]

That would be correct, I have seen love do many things to good men. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it if you end up losing what you value the most in people.

[He would, wouldn't he? It's almost painful to read this, knowing the main context but unable to remind him that Lancelot had given Guinevere what she could not and never could. She knew, likely, he would never understand why she could never give Lancelot anything but her forgiveness.]

You don't think love is worth it?

It depends on the two people in love, but love is complex and the outcome may be worth it depending on said two people.

What about if your lover winds up dead?

Then it is not worth it, if you have to see the one you care for the most die in front of you due to whatever events unfold then I believe it is not worth it.

One can only suffer so much before they break completely.

And what do you do if you do wind up breaking?

At that point everything turns black and only anger remains. It is something I don't wish to go through again, I have to avoid it even if it means discarding wanting to love someone again.

How did you manage to get past that point? [Last she'd seen him before the tower, he had still been angry and hurt about the deaths of his brothers.]

I became a knight for someone who had a great goal in mind. [ Even if he doesn't fully agree with Leo's actions he is his master. ]

Even if I have another war to fight I do so trying to make up for what I have lost in the past with what I have in the present.
