[ Homura gave herself quite a few days to think this through. She's spent her time wandering the tower, thoroughly checking every corner for a way out and squashing any insecurity those letters brought about. It's quite likely that your character has not so much as seen her, given how Homura is presently not sure who she can trust in this tower and is being quite careful to avoid distractions.

But that isn't working. Not just that, but Madoka is here. It won't do to not check in on Madoka every once and a while, if only to give her 'friend' one less person to worry about. Plus, as much as she hates it, it has become clear that she can't get a total grasp on this place by herself. Homura would rather not learn everything from experience in such a dangerous place, and after watching the network terminal for a while she can see that the other users aren't so bad. No harm in trying, anyway. ]

A good day to you all. I am Homura Akemi. I have been here for less than a week. I understand those letters may have many of you uneasy right now, but I would appreciate any information you have to offer regarding the current situation.

[ Her mind gradually wanders. The letter being brought up allowed a pang of guilt to break through her thoughts, as well as a mental image of the other magical girls presumably not saved. Well, if Madoka is here and from such an early time like herself then maybe... ]

[So Homura's back. Kyoko can't help but feel a touch of relief upon seeing the other girl on the screen. She's come to trust Homura over the course of her stay in the tower, but even if she didn't, the girl was useful. Reliable. Those traits meant more than trust.

Now it's just a matter of whether or not she remembers that.]

Ah, so you finally decided to come back from your vacation. And here I was starting to think that you just planned on lazing around forever.

[ Homura watches the Kyouko on the screen. They know each other. She can't immediately pinpoint whether Kyouko knows her from their home, from their alliance, or had only met her during her tower stay.

Whatever the reason behind Kyouko's familiar tone, Homura knows it is wrongly placed. She is not the Homura that Kyouko thinks she is talking to. And Kyouko isn't a girl that Homura will tell even a white lie to. ]

I am not the Akemi Homura you think you are speaking to. This is my first time in the tower.

[ ... ] My sincerest apologies for the inconvience.

Not the same one, huh...dunno how I'm supposed to take that.

[She considers for a moment before simply offering a slight shrug.]

Well, it's not like it matters. You're still Homura Akemi, so you've gotta be more reliable than most of the idiots around here.

[Probably not the best way to dismiss the matter, but truthfully, she still hasn't figured out how to deal with the whole "different versions" thing and sees no reason to make things more awkward by continuing to draw attention to it.]

I hardly feel that I am anyone reliable if I have a history of disappearing without warning. [ Bluntly throwing that out there. Though she is a bit touched by Kyoko's comment. ]

That is not to say I do not intend to be reliable while I am here now. I do, however, require some information. You seem like the most reliable source for such things.

[Harsh and straight the point as ever, but she wouldn't be Homura if she wasn't like that.]

The nature of the experiments, additional floors Madoka should be avoiding, and anything you know regarding the Madoka Kaname from that alternate universe.

[Oh boy. That's quite a bit. She chomps on a cookie, thinking about what to tackle first.

Well, might as well start with their friend.]

For Madoka, you might be better off asking that girl for yourself. She seemed broken up about you leaving before.

[She shrugs, but nonetheless elaborates.]

She acts about the same, so does the story, but it sounds like the Puella Magi system got a face lift. From what she said, she's from a world where Incubators figured out how to turn Puella Magi into Witches from the get go. Rather than receiving a Soul Gem that'll eventually turn into a Grief Seed, they undergo torture until a curse starts to form and gives birth to a Witch.

Something's not right with that system though, y'know...because like, the Witch that's born from that curse is half-formed. According to Madoka, she got fused with it and was told to fight Witches to keep her under control. In other words, she'll eventually be eaten by her own Witch.

Eaten?

[ Homura's voice might have scaled a few octaves there. That's horrible. Becoming a witch is one thing, and yes that is sad and painful to watch girls endure, but to be eaten? ]

No way... Madoka...

That's not going to happen to her.

[She won't let it happen.]

You know how to prevent it?

[ For once, Homura is in a vulnerable position. It's been a long time since she was clueless about anything. ]

If she needs to fight Witches to keep her own Witch suppressed, then all we've gotta do is create more Witches. We've all got Grief Seeds on us, why not just use those until the Witch hatches? She doesn't have to worry about using up magic like Puella Magi created by our system do, so it'd benefit everyone involved, y'know.

[Technically speaking, she's just restating Sayaka's idea here; Kyoko saw it posted on the network before and decided to file the information away, but details.]

Well, even without that, there's always monsters running around at night. Killing them is a breeze, y'know.
