Many Hands to Lighten the Work
[Video]
[While it's been a while since Diarmuid posted to the Network himself as opposed to just responding to others, his expression is very similar to the expression he had the last time he posted--tired, worn. Unlike last time, though, he actually seems happy to be as tired as he is.]
Those of you who were here in May probably remember a post that Saber of White made where she and I asked for assistance from people who would be willing to help make copies of maps and documents that warn others of the dangers on each floor of the Tower. Since then we have continued to gather information and discussed the best ways to organize that information. However, in light of recent developments and the very real possibility that things might be about to take a turn for the worst around here, I think that the time for information gathering and discussion has come to an end.
As a result and with Saber's permission, I would like to ask anyone who volunteered back then or who would like to volunteer now, to please meet at the Library on the 3rd floor early tomorrow so that we can begin making copies of the information and maps. A printing press has been found so that will make copying the written part of this project much easier. However, the maps will still all need to be hand copied and that will take much longer.
My friend and Master Waver Velvet will be helping me organize this. Anyone who wishes to learn how to use the printing press need only ask one of us and we will be glad to show you how it works. I would like to make enough copies to post one on or near each floor and then leave multiple copies in places like the library, cafeteria, and lounges where people spend the most time. From my tests with rough drafts of the information, nothing we post to the floors will remain there for very long, but if we can keep copies in the libraries and other places where people gather, that will be better than nothing.
Once all of the copies have been made, I will also post a copy of the guide to the Network since I suspect that is the only place where it will remain permanently as long as the administrators don't decide to remove it.
Anyone with questions or comments please feel free to respond to this post. I thank you all in advance for your help with this. I realize that there is little we can do to truly make the Tower a safer place, but every little bit helps especially when we have bigger fights to focus our attention on.
(OOC: Please keep in mind, the meeting in the library is handwaved. Anyone who would like to say their character came to help work on this is welcome to do so! Work is going to continue for roughly three days after which Diarmuid will be posting a copy of the guide to the Network and thanking those who helped out with the project. If you have any questions about the guide itself and what can and cannot be done with the information, please refer to this OOC post. Thanks!)

He killed someone close to me. Even if death is not permanent here, no one has the right to do that to another. We all might be captives here, but that doesn't mean evil isn't walking among us.
[He takes a deep breath to calm himself.]
My apologies. I shouldn't be burdening you with the knowledge of such things. It is good to meet you Lord Dawn. My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. While it would be hard to confuse the two of them because there is such a large difference in their ages, I will be glad to mention your name to him the next time I see him.

[At least, in text, he has the option of thinking of an apology rather than just making babbling noises or running away. It takes him a while, though.]
I am so sorry for your loss, and very sorry for bringing up such painful memories. It's not my place and I apologize.
No, it's not your fault. Triggering bad memories for people who have been here a long time is unfortunately something that is hard to avoid. I have been here since January and even before that I spent most of my lives walking with Death at my side. As a result, I don't really see the point of holding back information.
[He laughs, looking slightly embarrassed.]
I'm getting better at keeping my mouth shut sometimes, but I still have a lot to learn.

Don't worry about it. My wife is my personal censor...but she's not here, so I'm starting to run into that problem myself.
[Hopefully the mood still isn't too somber for Diarmuid to catch the joke, and not the fact that Rick is without his wife.]
If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been here? Since you are being so helpful to me, I would be glad to answer any questions you might have. Arriving here in itself is a very confusing thing and with things so unsettled I am sure that only adds to the confusion.
[text]
I don't mind...a few weeks, I think. I've been filled in on a lot of things, but...I'll be honest, I still have so many questions that I wouldn't know where to start. I guess I'll figure things out as I run into them. But...thanks, though.
[Diarmuid nods as he speaks.]
There is a certain excitement to figuring things out on one's own, but I probably don't have to tell you at this point that you must be careful. Especially if you don't have much training in self-defense. So little is actually what it seems to be here.
[text]
[Oops, too serious! Dial it back Rick.]
Anyways...we'll keep in touch! I look forward to helping out.

[Diarmuid smiles.]
I look forward to meeting you in person soon. In the meantime, be safe.
