Many Hands to Lighten the Work
[Video]
[While it's been a while since Diarmuid posted to the Network himself as opposed to just responding to others, his expression is very similar to the expression he had the last time he posted--tired, worn. Unlike last time, though, he actually seems happy to be as tired as he is.]
Those of you who were here in May probably remember a post that Saber of White made where she and I asked for assistance from people who would be willing to help make copies of maps and documents that warn others of the dangers on each floor of the Tower. Since then we have continued to gather information and discussed the best ways to organize that information. However, in light of recent developments and the very real possibility that things might be about to take a turn for the worst around here, I think that the time for information gathering and discussion has come to an end.
As a result and with Saber's permission, I would like to ask anyone who volunteered back then or who would like to volunteer now, to please meet at the Library on the 3rd floor early tomorrow so that we can begin making copies of the information and maps. A printing press has been found so that will make copying the written part of this project much easier. However, the maps will still all need to be hand copied and that will take much longer.
My friend and Master Waver Velvet will be helping me organize this. Anyone who wishes to learn how to use the printing press need only ask one of us and we will be glad to show you how it works. I would like to make enough copies to post one on or near each floor and then leave multiple copies in places like the library, cafeteria, and lounges where people spend the most time. From my tests with rough drafts of the information, nothing we post to the floors will remain there for very long, but if we can keep copies in the libraries and other places where people gather, that will be better than nothing.
Once all of the copies have been made, I will also post a copy of the guide to the Network since I suspect that is the only place where it will remain permanently as long as the administrators don't decide to remove it.
Anyone with questions or comments please feel free to respond to this post. I thank you all in advance for your help with this. I realize that there is little we can do to truly make the Tower a safer place, but every little bit helps especially when we have bigger fights to focus our attention on.
(OOC: Please keep in mind, the meeting in the library is handwaved. Anyone who would like to say their character came to help work on this is welcome to do so! Work is going to continue for roughly three days after which Diarmuid will be posting a copy of the guide to the Network and thanking those who helped out with the project. If you have any questions about the guide itself and what can and cannot be done with the information, please refer to this OOC post. Thanks!)

I offered my assistance before. I offer it again. Once the copying is done, if you need someone to distribute and post documents, I believe I would also be well-suited for that.
[He averts his gaze. His jaw clenches, then relaxes. It's as though he's chewing on words, uncertain if he should say them.]
You seem to have been working hard.

[He almost asks if the other man is well, but considering how the last month had gone and how uneasy Kain looks, the question seems an inconsiderate one. Of course, Kain often seems uneasy but that is only to be expected considering how long the dragoon had spent alone on his dead world before being brought back here.
Still, when last they had talked the man had seemed less uneasy...]
And if you would not might helping to distribute the copies, I would be grateful for the help in that area. I was thinking that people with good fighting skills like you and I would be the best suited for that role because we will be able to cover the floors more quickly and more safely than others might.
[Diarmuid laughs, slightly bowing his head at Kain's last words.]
I have been very busy. I think I know a few people who would likely be mad at me if they knew just how busy I have been and how little time I have taken to rest, but resting can come later once this is done and the Tower is safer for everyone.

[It was something he was honestly wondering. How many thought this was a worthwhile endeavor? How many still had the hope to try to struggle against this place?
Focusing on such things took his mind off of more painful matters. He was thankful for it.]
...do not take your companions here for granted. Any of us could vanish at any time.
[He didn't know. Diarmuid didn't know that Cecil was gone, did he? The instant of pity that he felt quickly gave way to an astonishing flash of anger, that he was quick to bite back and hold onto.]

By the way..how is Waver doing? I haven't spoken to him recently. Is he alright?
[Video] (Because the derp doesn't tend to change his mode of communication on the Network...)
[Diarmuid pauses, a worried look crossing his face for a moment before passing.]
Waver is...okay. He got himself into a little trouble not long ago, but considering how much he likes to get involved in things...
[Read as...he is opinionated as can be and doesn't mind sharing those opinions...]
...I am surprised it didn't happen sooner. I'm seeing to it he rests now.
[In as much as he can, anyway. Waver is a stubborn one...]
[Text] (Not that Tohko will really mind. ^^ )
[..Tohko read quite easily into that, since she knew how stubborn both the older and younger Wavers could be, and she sighed as she typed.]
I'm sorry to hear that..but it's good that you're taking care of him. What sort of trouble did he get into, if you don't mind my asking?

I'll do anything I can to help. The third floor you said? I'll be there.

[Diarmuid gives her a grateful smile.]
I don't believe we have met. My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. May I ask your name so that I can properly thank you for your aid?
Re: [video]
I'm glad to see there are still plenty of people who haven't given up.

If there's anything else you can think of that needs to be done, I'm always open for more work, too. If you're okay with that, I mean.
[Video] (Don't mind him. He doesn't use the Net much, so he doesn't tend to change response form.)
It may not be much, but even a little bit can go a long way in a place like this and it gives those who are not fighters a way to help out. I expect there are probably times when a lot of people wonder what they can do and not knowing how to help is a frustrating feeling. This is something they can help with whether they have been here a long time or more newly arrived like yourself.
If you are willing to learn how the printing press works, keeping copies in the library, cafeteria, and lounges will be an ongoing process. One I would be glad to have your assistance with.

I'm glad to provide assistance! Doing paperwork was my job back home, after all. Making copies again will bring back good memories.

Have you had much chance to work on your guide lately?

[Oh look, someone he probably hasn't seen since that damned spot started acting up.]
[A surprised, but also pleased look crosses Diarmuid's face. Indeed, it has been a long time since he saw her and with how many people have left the Tower lately, he feared she too might have been lost.]
It's good to see you again! There is always room for another person, especially one as talented as you are. I am actually asking the fighters who volunteer if they would be willing to be the ones who take the copies out for distribution since they will be able to do it more quickly and safely. Would you be up for that?

I will be glad to have your help with the maps... If it is not too rude of me, may I ask your name? I am Diarmuid Ua Duibhne.

[Diarmuid sounds very frustrated.]
I was only able to test on half a dozen floors or so, but none of them lasted longer than a day or two. Even ones left in the stairwells. I can't help but wonder if in addition to all the other things they do to make our lives difficult, the drones perhaps are also set to clean things like those from the walls.

Your help will still be most welcome and I will be glad to teach you how to use the printing press. I think the more people who know how to use it, the better.
I don't believe we have been introduced yet. My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. May I have your name so that I can thank you properly for your help?
