Many Hands to Lighten the Work

[While it's been a while since Diarmuid posted to the Network himself as opposed to just responding to others, his expression is very similar to the expression he had the last time he posted--tired, worn.  Unlike last time, though, he actually seems happy to be as tired as he is.]

Those of you who were here in May probably remember a post that Saber of White made where she and I asked for assistance from people who would be willing to help make copies of maps and documents that warn others of the dangers on each floor of the Tower.  Since then we have continued to gather information and discussed the best ways to organize that information.  However, in light of recent developments and the very real possibility that things might be about to take a turn for the worst around here, I think that the time for information gathering and discussion has come to an end.

As a result and with Saber's permission, I would like to ask anyone who volunteered back then or who would like to volunteer now, to please meet at the Library on the 3rd floor early tomorrow so that we can begin making copies of the information and maps.  A printing press has been found so that will make copying the written part of this project much easier.  However, the maps will still all need to be hand copied and that will take much longer.

My friend and Master Waver Velvet will be helping me organize this.  Anyone who wishes to learn how to use the printing press need only ask one of us and we will be glad to show you how it works.  I would like to make enough copies to post one on or near each floor and then leave multiple copies in places like the library, cafeteria, and lounges where people spend the most time.  From my tests with rough drafts of the information, nothing we post to the floors will remain there for very long, but if we can keep copies in the libraries and other places where people gather, that will be better than nothing.

Once all of the copies have been made, I will also post a copy of the guide to the Network since I suspect that is the only place where it will remain permanently as long as the administrators don't decide to remove it.

Anyone with questions or comments please feel free to respond to this post.  I thank you all in advance for your help with this.  I realize that there is little we can do to truly make the Tower a safer place, but every little bit helps especially when we have bigger fights to focus our attention on.

[Diarmuid crosses his arms over his chest, grinning the whole time.]

[Diarmuid's expression sobers slightly as he rests his chin in his hand, fingers lightly brushing the mole on his face.]

...I'd thought about that, too. [Waver turned serious as well, tone calming to mild annoyance.] It's almost funny, the way coincidences like this work out.

[Diarmuid sighs, his gaze dropping for a moment.]

You are the last person I would wish something that is anything like my curse on.

It's nothing so serious as that--just a group of aggravating schoolgirl crushes. At worst it's just an inconvenience.

Probably lucky for them. I don't know that it would look good if I was caught beating up your students so that they would leave you alone...

[Diarmuid's words cut off when he realizes what he almost says and he turns bright red.]

[Diarmuid's eyes drop to the side and when he speaks his voice is small and embarrassed.]

Y-you are my master, my family, and m-my friend! Is it so weird I would want you safe?

[Yes, and that stutter is totally enough to convince Waver there is nothing else to ask about, right?]

W-well that's--that's still qu-questionable terminology!

[Somehow even in his embarrassment, Diarmuid does have enough presence of mind to throw a lock on the conversation so that they both aren't embarrassed any further by what might or might not be said.]

I mean, I have told you how I feel about you before! W-what makes this so different?

[Diarmuid's embarrassed energy suddenly vanishes in a wave of cold shame. Of course, he shouldn't be acting this way. It's shameful for a servant to act this way. It's probably long past time that Waver called him to task before before he puts him anymore at risk...

Diarmuid's cycle of negative thought is interrupted when he realizes that Waver has cut himself off from saying something the same way he himself had just a few moments before.]

What do you mean you could get the wrong idea? Don't you already know how important you are to me?

[Waver fidgeted nervously, adjusting his sunglasses.]

...it's complicated.

I...think I understand more than you know.

[He shuts his eyes for a moment. It is complicated and it is confusing. To know and not know what you feel all at the same time.]

I'm sorry I've made things more complicated than they needed to be. There is already so much to worry about without having to work through all of this too.

[Waver shrugged, painfully aware of the light shade of red coming to his face.]

[Diarmuid opens his eyes and tries to smiles a small smile.]

But you know me. That is how I am.
