Tower Floor Guide

[While seeming oddly distracted, there is a smile on Diarmuid's face when he addresses the Network.]

My thanks to all those who helped with making copies of the Tower Floor Guide in the library over the last few days. While I don't know how long the copies posted to the actual floors will last, hopefully we will more easily be able to keep copies in the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges so that when people need them, they can find them. It probably goes without saying, but my thanks also goes out to those who have offered to watch and replenish the stacks should they get low.

As I mentioned in my last post, once the physical copies were made I wanted to put a copy of the guide onto the Network so that we have at least one permanent copy. That is what this post is for.

In the end, I decided to keep the presentation of the information simple so we could get in as much as possible. Anyone who looks over the guide and notices missing or incorrect information, please let me know by posting here. Posts can be made anonymously since I know that the things these floors do to us are often very painful and personal in nature. I will update all information as soon as I can once it is posted.

Anyone who wishes to repost this information as new people arrive, please feel free to do so. I want it to be kept where as many people as possible can see it. My thanks goes out to those who have volunteered to watch over this post to keep it from being tampered with.

[Diarmuid's gaze shifts to the side as if he is unsure about continuing, but he has a feeling his brother won't let him get away without continuing now, so he does.]

He works with Ganondorf on occasion I have been told. That might tell you a bit more about his character. Beyond that...he has hurt and killed people who I care about. My family...

[He looks up at Cu Chulainn, pain in his eyes.]

He forced Ryoji to kill himself, brother. In front of me and Yukiko... I...I couldn't save him...

[Now his gaze shifts away, but his voice stops shaking as if he is steadying himself.]

I need to make him pay, but I will need help for that. I cannot take him alone and he will learn nothing from a fight where he is just able to kill the one who he is fighting. Honestly, I don't know that he will learn anything from death either since we just come back. It is why I have not gone after him before this.

However, when I figure out how to make him pay, will you help me do it?

[He grits his teeth so hard that it makes a grinding noise.]

You have my word that I'll stand at your side. Let's teach him not to mess with our family!

Easy brother...

[Diarmuid reaches out and puts a hand on Cu Chulainn's shoulder.]

I am glad you will help me, but you need to stay calm about it. He gains joy from upsetting people. I have learned this well. We must remain calm and plan. He will pay. I promise you. Waver has agreed to help as well.

[He chuckles a little nervously.]

If it had not been for him, I would have started a fight at your party for Kariya and Claudia. I apologize, but I just could not hold back my anger and Sephiroth seemed to know just what to say to make me even angrier...

[He makes a frustrated noise, but still nods in agreement.]

Well, now I know who to kick out the next time I throw a party.

I have to admit I was surprised to see him there... I suppose he just came to try and cause trouble. I can't think of any other reason he would come to something like that.

[Diarmuid sighs, but then smiles at his brother.]

Thank you. I am glad to know that you will be there to help me with this.

[He nods.]

I'll do whatever it takes.

And who else is helping us? Is it just me?

You, me, Waver, and...Ryoji.

[Diarmuid sighs.]

I don't want him to go, but if he doesn't go with us I fear he will go alone and that won't end well.

He should have a chance to go. After all, I'm betting he's the one who wants to cave in the bastard's face the most.

He should but....Sephiroth can mentally control him, brother. Including triggering some of his stronger abilities.

[Diarmuid gives Cu Chulainn a worried look.]

I would prefer to have Ryoji nowhere near him, but as you say...he deserves the chance to fight. In addition, I know he will go alone if I don't let him come with, so...

[He frowns.]

...Is it anything my runes can block? Or something Waver can use his magecraft on? Perhaps you can train him resist?

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I couldn't say. I think you would have to ask Ryoji to know for sure. Sephiroth didn't explain his methods and I didn't push Ryoji for too many details once he woke up. He was upset enough as it was.

I'll ask him next time I see him.

What of your other children? Has Sephiroth threatened them at all?

Just...be gentle, okay? I don't want him upset more than he already is...

[Diarmuid pauses and then shakes his head.]

No, not that I know about. I know he has hurt other people I am close to. He broke Tohko's arm way back around the time I first arrived here, and I worry he might do something to Yukiko since she was also there when he made Ryoji kill himself and she is close to Ryoji, but that is it.

Yeah...Yukiko...

[He grins.]

Looks like your son landed a beautiful lady. He really does take after his father.

[Diarmuid blushes and looks away for a moment.]

Stop that... Besides, I don't want him to take after me that much. I would like him to be happy in romance for one thing...

[His expression falls.]

Oh. Right. Sorry.

[Diarmuid reaches out to squeeze his brother's shoulder.]

Don't be. It's only right for a parent to want more for their child, isn't it? And I haven't given up on myself yet. It's...just going to take a while before I stop being afraid to try again.

[Lancer puts his hand over Diarmuid's.]

And would you like me to help then? Or would you ask me to stay out of the way again?

[A pause.]

...As long as you're not bopping me in the nose again.

[Diarmuid smiles at his brother, but then shakes his head.]

I appreciate it, but don't help. It wouldn't be fair to the other person anyway. When this is done, I'm going back with Waver. I need to go back with him...

...I can't imagine not going back with him now.

[He keeps silent and nods. It's pretty much a given that Diarmuid will go back with Waver.]

[And when that time comes, he'll never see his brother again, since he has his own promises to fulfill and that would entail going back to his own world.

[Diarmuid gives his brother a curious look. He had expected some kind of teasing at that, not silence.]

What is it? Is something wrong?

N-nothing.

[He does his best to smile.]

Just thinking that it would be quite the shock for those Archibalds.

[~~Look what followed me home Ma~~]

Perhaps...

[He narrows his eyes slightly and then reaches out and pokes his brother in the nose. It's a poke, not a bop...]

What are you hiding? Has Waver said something to you I don't know about?

[He rubs at his nose.]

Nah, Waver didn't say anything to me. Nothing nasty, that is.

That's good to hear...

[Diarmuid seems surprisingly relieved about this.]
