Tower Floor Guide
[Video]
[While seeming oddly distracted, there is a smile on Diarmuid's face when he addresses the Network.]
My thanks to all those who helped with making copies of the Tower Floor Guide in the library over the last few days. While I don't know how long the copies posted to the actual floors will last, hopefully we will more easily be able to keep copies in the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges so that when people need them, they can find them. It probably goes without saying, but my thanks also goes out to those who have offered to watch and replenish the stacks should they get low.
As I mentioned in my last post, once the physical copies were made I wanted to put a copy of the guide onto the Network so that we have at least one permanent copy. That is what this post is for.
In the end, I decided to keep the presentation of the information simple so we could get in as much as possible. Anyone who looks over the guide and notices missing or incorrect information, please let me know by posting here. Posts can be made anonymously since I know that the things these floors do to us are often very painful and personal in nature. I will update all information as soon as I can once it is posted.
Anyone who wishes to repost this information as new people arrive, please feel free to do so. I want it to be kept where as many people as possible can see it. My thanks goes out to those who have volunteered to watch over this post to keep it from being tampered with.
Please feel free to contact me about the guide if there are any questions, comments, or concerns. I can be reached through this post, my mailbox which is #0091, or by stopping by my room which is #4-16.
(OOC: As mentioned in his other post, if anyone has questions about what can and cannot be done with the guide, please see this OOC Post. Because of events that will happen in game after this post, while I will be tagging responses right away, please consider none of them having ICly come until late on the 21st/early on the 22nd. Thanks!)

[it's quite a magical one, and even more so since he was the one that handed their deaths to them, all of them.]
Jessica so desperately pleaded with Kanon to love her, saying he wasn't furniture, and he didn't realize any of it, the only time he knew was during th moments of his death, but it was already too late for the both of them. The culprit of Rokkenjima killed them.
As for George and Shannon, oh... perhaps even more painful? For she had accepted him and the ring, ready to marry him, but they soon died thanks to that murderer as well.
After all.... there are no happy endings on that island. [that was just one story, however, there are many different tales of that island, many game boards.]

And that only compounds the tragedy...]
What a terrible place to live if none can ever be happy. Why would anyone stay in such a place? I have to admit, your Master told me little of your world so it is hard for me to understand it or why it would feel the need to create someone trapped as you are.

[what a lovely witch she is.]

[That is something Diarmuid finds unsettling since curiosity is something he's always had.]
Who is Lady Bernkastel?
no subject
[but he always just keeps his head down, doing whatever the witches say.]
Mm... a witch that grew too bored with everything. She created me for entertainment, I suppose, for even more torment. The culprit theory, that the real Battler was the one that killed his entire family, she turned a theory into a reality.

[Shock covers his face.]
Just how powerful are the Witches of your world? I know I saw one create tea from thin air, but tea is one thing. A living being...

[and yet they made him so powerful as well, such witches...]
They have different titles they've acquired after thousands of years.... huhahaha...
The one I'm referring to... is the Witch of Miracles. No wonder she could create a theory and make it live...

[Diarmuid shakes his head as a realization starts to form in his mind. While they may name themselves witches, on other worlds they would probably be called gods.]
The problem with titles is that people start remembering only the title and forgetting the person behind the title. Sometimes, the person themselves even forgets who they are. What good it is to have so much power and respect when you have nothing else left? Is that why all of the Witches I have met seem to be searching for something?

[he's actually... kind of curious about this sort of topic.]

It should be obvious to you from my questions about your world that I am no expert on it. In fact, I understand very little about how it works. Yet, I have spent enough time looking in my life that I can recognize pretty easily those who are looking for something themselves. It is not uncommon for people who focus so much of themselves on gaining power and reputation, to suddenly find that they have lost who they really are. It's a terrifying thing to realize about yourself and so it is understandable that many of those people distract themselves from that loss by looking for even more power. For even more fun. For even more anything to keep themselves from thinking about what isn't there anymore.
[Indeed had that not been what Diarmuid had been doing during the experiment in January? He had lost so much of himself that he only cared to find the next fun time, the next distraction from reality. And it had been that him that the Endless Witch had liked so much...
...perhaps because he was much like her.]
So, the answer to your question is, yes. It seems to me as if they have lost or forgotten themselves and so they do what they do as a way to distract themselves from that. It might not apply to all of them, but the moment you start to identify yourself not as a person with a name, but a title, a shift happens whether you are consciously aware of it or not.

[he can't deny what this man is saying, and every time they speak it's always comes back to this topic, will they ever drift from it, will he ever truly move on and accept that he can be someone else? perhaps he also doesn't want to...]
...You have such... vast knowledge, whereas I feel as though I myself know nothing, only of the gameboard and what to expect on it. How long have you lived before you grew to be this way...? [has he gotten bored as well?]
no subject
You like asking complex questions, don't you? But then again, those do have the best answers...
How long have I lived? My first life I would say I was somewhere between 30 and 40 years old when I died. It is hard to say exactly because of how the methods of keeping time have changed over the years. However, it really doesn't matter because I didn't truly begin learning until I came to this place after my second death.
That second life lasted just over a week, if you are curious...
But this third life...this is when I have really started to learn. I've been in the Tower seven months now. It is a little...scary how much one may learn about themselves and life in such a short time.
