I've really grown accustomed to this place, believe it or not. As mundane as my daily activities seem to be...

[Giorno seems a little bored, really, seeing as how he's resting his head on his hand as he's sitting in a chair.]

...but I will admit, that the events taking place are quite...interesting. The residents manage to impress me every day, really. [The way he says it makes it sound like he's actually not too impressed with what's been going on lately, but hey, he's usually expressionless anyway. Nevertheless, Giorno stands up, pacing back and forth.]

This reminds me of the events that transpired back at home- after all, I was part of a group that broke out against the main faction. [And the leader of that, no doubt- but he wasn't going to say that unless someone were to pry into that. Let alone talk to him about it.] But tell me, have you ever rebelled? Against a person, leader- whatever it may be. I need something to occupy my time in the mean time.

...if I were to join a mafia for the sake of it sounding "cool", then I would find my priorities set in the wrong places. [MEANING; HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT APPEARANCES.] It's for the sake of a man that once saved me.

But she just blinks at the last part. Giorno being saved instead of doing the saving? ]

Wait, did he ever help you out when you were trying to join the mafia or something?

[He has to do some more cheesy explanations, doesn't he? It takes him a while, before he managed to get it out at least.]

...when I was a small child, I didn't lead the greatest of lives. I was often bullied by the other children, my mother would leave me at night as I would shrivel in my bed, terrified, and my own step father beat me...however. That all changed when that man came into my life. He was part of the mafia, but...he was badly injured- it seemed a rival gang had gotten to him. They asked me where he was, and I merely led them astray. Since then, he had protected me from that day, helping me shape into the person I am today.

And that is why I, Giorno Giovanna, became a Gangstar! To show my thanks to that man, and repay him for that kindness he has shown me!

[ Yeah, cheesy is a good way to describe all of that. At least it's full of spirit, and the first part actually is.. pretty sad, even Asahi knows that, but then suddenly at the end it turns so corny again.. Giorno, make up your mind instead of telling a story with moodswings like this, now she's not sure how to react!

.. All of that really happened to you..? With your parents, I mean?

[He's a JoJo, how can he ever not moodswing and be super full of enthusiasm when it comes to this sort of thing...but no, what she said next only got a solemn nod out of him.]

I wouldn't make this up if I could. This is something that's happened to me before, but I've grown stronger as a person because of it.

Well, I guess it explains a lot.. [ Why he's so lineface, for one. It means he never got love from his parents, so of course he'd have more trouble expressing himself because of that, especially compared to how over the top emotional she herself is.. but it still hurts a little, knowing that happened to him. It's not fair. He's such a good person, and yet.. ]

I'm sorry though, Giorno. You shouldn't have had to deal with that..

[He waves off that statement. Sentiments aren't his best suit, and he's not exactly going to share any sentiment in his past life. Even if she knows, he's not going to change that stone expression on his face. Not even a budge.]

It's something that I've grown out of. I'm sure if I had never had that run in, I wouldn't be like this. So, I'm glad that those sort of events happened...it's to strengthen my resolve, of course.
