It's not selfish, no, but as far as we're aware, we have nothing to lose at this point. Unless something is done, the power is going to run out and everyone here will die. Truly. I assume that would include the Administrators. Unless Ruana decides to feed on the souls of those who returned to their worlds.
I will admit that, yes. This is entirely our fault. I would be among the first to say so, but it's a risk we have to take. If the Administrators would work with us and actually explain things to us instead of hiding everything from us, I'm sure any number of us would be willing to help. They have no faith in us and, in turn, we have no faith in them and I do not know if there is any way we can extend an olive branch, so to speak, at this point. Not after what the likes of Jason and Ruana have put so many of our number through.
We had to, is the thing. We had to keep the Administrators from finding out. Considering there was a month recently where Jason took us in and brainwashed a number of us, we had reason to believe we had to keep it as secret as possible. The Administrators constantly watch and listen to us, so we had to be very careful lest we get caught.
I am honestly still shocked we managed to pull it off.
We cannot change what has happened. All we can do now is try to fix things. I do not blame anyone for thinking we could break things, but when our alternative is true death and our worlds are already gone what is there left to lose?

I apologize. I thought that had been made clear when people made their apologies on the Network: no one knew what the chips were meant to do.

[Oh, Arturia has ideas of what Ruana could do. Part of 'making the tower safe' is doing something about Ruana, after all.]
