[This message flickers onto the network late at night, once Waver's had a chance to both check his mail and read the book delivered to him.]

Who the hell left that in my mailbox.

I am not playing games. I am not remotely pleased. If I ever find out who you are, I'm going to throttle you. And if it was an administrator, I'll do much worse than that.

[Waver didn't linger on the network for very long after posting; he eventually stormed off carrying the book in question and wearing a disturbingly calm expression.]

[Why was there an incinerator here and could it possibly come to life and kill him? Who cared? Certainly not the Clock Tower's favorite professor. Who, by the way, to be slowly coming apart from 'tranquil fury' to just plain fury as he threw his newly received book into the incinerator as hard as he could.]

Fucking tower. [He reached up to something at the level of his collarbone--a pendant hidden under his shirt, apparently. Satisfied it was still there, the magus lowered his hand and turned sharply to head back to the dorm floors.]

I should probably wait to work on that at some point when I'm thinking more clearly. As things are now, I'd likely make any number of stupid mistakes.

[Waver's hand moved to whatever pendant he kept hidden under his shirt again, the lecturer starting to seem a little on edge as he considered why he'd left the dorm floors in the first place.]

Very well. I will wait until you are ready.

[ Her eyes gaze to his pendant - or at least, the indentations under his shirt and she nods mostly to herself. ]

Do you want me to walk you down to the dorm floors? It may be safer to travel in groups.

I can take care of myself well enough. But I suppose I wouldn't object to the company.

I am sure you could, but it would help me not worry too much over one of my friends.

[ Sertoria quickly flashes a smile and begins walking, hands stuffed in her robe's sleeves. ]

Far be it from me to argue with that.

[He followed a step or two behind, mindlessly fiddling with what could just barely be seen as a silver chain around his neck. Whatever it was, it seemed today he took some odd sense of comfort in reminding himself it was there.]

I hope I am not being too pushy, Waver.

[ Every so often, Sertoria will look behind her to see if Waver's alright back there. The tower has her awfully wary as of late, but she's still able to remain resolute. ]

No worse than I've been at some point or another, I assure you. [He laughed, though there was a hollow note to it despite Waver's best efforts.]

...Is that a compliment? If so, I will take it as one and leave the topic at that. [ Sorry, Waver. She's still kind of people dumb, even though Sertoria's freakin' ancient by now. ]

There is an old saying a friend told me once. It was, "actions speak louder than words." You can say a lot more with a simple action, as I have found out.
