So, it's true. Death isn't permanent here.

[ He's not sure whether he should be happy or upset about this... on one hand, his magic can't cause any permanent harm to others. On the other, he will never die. He's right back to square one, in that sense. ]

I guess I don't have a reason to hide who I am, anymore. In my world, I was responsible for terrible things. Things that, when I arrived here, thought might have lead to my world being destroyed, before learning the truth.

I owe a lot of answers to the people of my world. I'll be waiting in the fourth floor lounge.

[ And sure enough, there he is. He's sitting cross-legged in one of the chairs, staring out at the clouds outside. His magic feels under control, for the moment. Feel free to approach. ]

[ Zeref hasn't met Gray yet - that he knows of, anyway. He opens his eyes as Gray enters, seeing his reflection in the glass of the window he was seated at. He looked angry, and by all rights, he should be. Zeref doesn't blame him one bit, though he certainly doesn't look much happier, himself. He frowns, but it's a sad, apologetic frown; not one born of anger and a rather traumatic early life, all of which was entirely Zeref's own fault. ]

[ Zeref turns around in his seat to face Gray. ]

Don't worry... my magic is under control, for now.

[Gray is still annoyed, but he relaxes only a little, giving a curt nod. Letting his guard down wouldn't be good around a dark mage, especially one as powerful as Zeref.

Crossing his arms, he observes the mage for a couple seconds more before asking his question. One he wanted to know for quite some time:]

Those demons...Why did you create them? [Gray of course is thinking of Deliora when he asks this]

[ Zeref takes a deep breath. He's fully aware how many of his demons survived into the future, and continued to wreak havoc well into the future. He couldn't exactly call them off all the way from Tenrou Island, which was maybe the one regret he had about going into that self-imposed exile. ]

There were many reasons. [ He created, what, a few thousand? They weren't all for the same reason. ] In several cases, it was because I wanted to create a demon capable of killing dragons. Other times, it was simply to dispose of those I wanted dead. There is really no single reason why I created them.
