Well, Icarus had this father, named Daedalus. And they were trapped in this tower. And they planned to escape by making these wings made of wax and feathers and fly away.

In Greek mythology Icarus was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus. In his attempt to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax

However, he ignored instructions not to fly too close to the sun and wax melted and thus caused him to fall into the sea where he drowned.

... That is just one version of the story. But in the end the result is always the same, Icarus flies too close to the sun and drowns in the sea because his wings melt.
