...Is there anyone around tht can woknows how to work glass or something? Say, to make a pair of lenses for glasses?

[The man basically has his nose to the screen right now and he still can't see what he's typed. Oh well, hope it's legible!]

[Rick blinks and narrows his eyes critically at the offered pair of glasses. He's not sure what they are at first--all he saw was a flash of something, then a fuzzy thing that could have been his glasses but--no, they couldn't, his glasses were still in Lorelei's other hand, he knew that much.]

[Curiously he accepts them. His eyes widen with surprise as he holds them to his face to confirm, twisting them around in many angles but clearly not internalizing any information that might bring him, before finally slipping them onto his nose. The world comes into sharp focus.]

[A childlike grin tugs at the corners of his mouth as he looks, amazed, between Lorelei and the broken glasses still in his hand.] --H-H-How--?

[Lorelei looks terribly pleased at the reaction it gets. Nothing's quite as good as surprise and happiness mixed in! He waits to make sure they're actually working the way they should before anything else, and as there's no complaints it seems he's gotten it right.]

It's just a thing I can do.

[That's ... quite an understatement. He sets to creating the second pair. There's that golden light again, busily constructing the second duplicate.]

I can control a certain particle called the 'seventh fonon'. Through it I can do things like this, if I want to. It's kind of handy sometimes. My isofons could too if they practiced but I don't think they have been.

[As the radiance fades, the second whole pair is presented with a cheerful smile.]

But now that I know what they should be like, if you need other ones I can make them no problem.

[Rick watches the creation of his second pair of glasses very intently, now that he can actually see what's going on, and is possibly even more astounded than he was the first time around. Talk of fonons and isofons goes completely over his head, which doesn't concern him too much--Rick wasn't expecting to get a simple explanation anyways, even though he'd asked. The silly grin remains plastered on his face.]

--Th--That's--r-really neat! [He accepts the second pair and once again inspects them closely, though this mostly consists of swapping them with his current pair and playing with the hinges.] I--well--a-alright then! Thank you! I-I c-can't do a-anything...n-nearly this f-f-fantastic, but--if you n-need me for s-something, I'd be...more than h-happy to r-r-return the f-favor.

[Lorelei has left out the detailed explanations. It would be terribly indepth otherwise. Limiting it to 'this thing does that thing' seemed about the simplest he could make it, and as Rick seems content with that, it seems to have worked!]

I find it pretty useful! And you're more than welcome, it's nice to make something instead of just destroy it sometimes.

[His new role in the Tower: making glasses. This is okay by him.]

[Rick's smile very briefly falters. Destroy them...? Was that supposed to be some kind of joke? He assumes it is and chuckles appropriately. Yes, Lorelei, what a fine jest! You are very silly. Also we're friends now, apparently, how could that possibly be bad? Rick is just very happy about everything right now.]

Ah--w-well I--d-d-didn't h-have anything in m-mind--d-don't want to k-keep you f-from a-a-anything i-important.

[There's absolutely no clarification, and it seems Lorelei's forgotten he'd said it at all. He's too cheerful for destruction, surely!]

I don't really have anything important to do beyond exploring! Did you know there's a floor not far from here filled with slides, ladders, and hungry snakes??
