Yes. The people I know of studied the heart in order to figure out how it worked. I don't know very much about their research but I never thought it included the same kinds of things that they're doing here. I can't say for sure that it didn't now that I think about it but it didn't seem like that was the case. I think that originally it had to do with the darkness in people's hearts.
