[Ken is curled up in front of one of the televisions on a couch, winter coat wrapped tightly around him. He's got his Featherman R DVD in his hands.]

Hey.

[Chidori doesn't say much else- doesn't think she needs to. Instead she just holds out a hand for the dvd so she can put it on.]

[He gives it to her, pulling his knees up to his chest.]

... Hey.

[She sets the dvd in, and waits for the menu to come up before looking over her shoulder and asking-]

What episode?

Twelve?

[That one works. It's not a DVD from the earliest part of the season, but that's all just buildup anyway.]

[He scoots over a bit so she has plenty of room for both herself and her dress.]

[Appropriate episode started and remote picked up, Chidori makes her way over, curls her legs up on the couch along with her dress, and pats her lap in invitation, if he wants to take it.]

What's this season again?

First season.

[... He feels a little silly about it, but he scoots onto her lap anyway, leaning into her. It's not really as awkward as it should be though. They're family, after all.]

[It's only once the episode has started up that he asks, quietly.]

How are you doing?

Oh, good.

[The later seasons had, in her opinion, fallen to way too many typical sentai tropes. She leans her chin against his head after a moment and sighs slowly, shaking her head.]

Worrying. They're not safe, and I... it isn't fair. They had more time than I did. They should still be here.

I won't say that they'll be okay, because... we don't know. But all we can do is hope that they'll come back, and they'll be okay.

[He reaches an arm around to hug her and squish her a bit.]

We don't know anything in this place anymore. Every time I think we've got to the end of the rabbit hole, it just goes deeper.

[Which is to say, she doesn't much care about the how and whys of the tower anymore, she just wants a straight answer about... well. Anything.]

...but you're right. They're strong.

[She can't help but chuckle at that.]

If nothing else, they are that.

... We'll figure something out. Even if I kind of want to just stay with the people I've met for a long time... we've got things to do at home.

[And he's got dreams to chase.]

The urge to stay... is tempting, yes.

[And she bites her lip for a split-second before continuing-]

But you're right. We have things to do.

[He reaches over and squeezes her hand gently, smiling.]

Thank you, by the way. For... always being there for me. I don't say it enough.

You don't have to do any such thing.

[She squeezes back, shaking her head before tilting it to set her cheek against his hair.]

We're family. It's what we do, right?

Yeah it is.

[Still, he can't help but worry about the others at home, even if they're strong.]

[Time to switch mental topics.]

I think I need a haircut.

[She raises a hand to ruffle his hair idly.]

I don't know- I think it looks rather charming this way.
