Those of you who know April Sinclair may want to know that she has left the tower. I searched the graveyard and found her tombstone today.

[Aleph considers it for a moment - then shakes his head.] I don't think so. Why would I be singled out? I've done very little against the adminstrators, for a Messiah.

Ah...that is true. You and April worked more behind the scenes supporting people than attacking directly. I suppose I am letting my worries run away with me.

[Diarmuid sighs, running a hand through his hair as he does.]

It's too bad you probably don't have any of the wine from before left. If there was any time to get drunk, now is it.

[And he would gladly keep an eye on Aleph if he wanted to get drunk out of his mind for a little while.]

I drank all of it already, sorry.

[He feels a little self-conscious about that heavy drinking...]

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

Don't be sorry. I was thinking of it more for you than for me. I thought it might take the edge off for a bit...

It might. Normally in a Riki month, we'd have alcohol, but it doesn't look like it now.

I don't know if we can assume much will be the same now as it once was. It's so close to the end and with Jason gone like that...

Yeah. The months we have left will be interesting, that's for certain.

I...really hope that we don't lose many more people. Already, it's getting much harder to do what must be done.

[Diarmuid thinks back especially to all the scientist-types who have been lost lately. What if they end up needing to study things like the fluid again?]

I'll hope for that, both for their sakes and for those they'd leave behind.

[Diarmuid sighs, shaking his head.]

We need all the help we can get with her.

I'd honestly be willing to deal with some of my worst enemies right now if they would help...

[Diarmuid nods, and then laughs a little embarrassed.]

Sorry about that... I took us from one gloomy topic to another. Are you planning any kind of memorial for her?

...I don't think so. I don't know what she would have liked, and anyway, it isn't as if she's dead.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I was thinking of it less of something to mourn her being gone and more something to celebrate the time we had with her, but I suppose most people would have a hard time seeing it that way, wouldn't they?

Mm... I don't think I would be able to see it that way, either.

[He's not that strong.]

[Diarmuid nods in understanding. He doesn't think Aleph weak for it, though.]

Back during my day, that was the way of things. Now things are very different, and I don't know if they were ever that way on your world.

Funerals were very common... I don't remember ever going to one, though. None of the gladiators who I killed had much more than a burial.

That sounds about right for gladiators, unfortunately.

Better we just keep her memory in our hearts. She would prefer that anyway.

[There is an odd catch in Diarmuid's voice for a moment. There is also a distant look in his eyes, but he shakes it off. He's here to comfort Aleph on his loss, not to think on his own troubles.]

Would some sparring or monster hunting help any? Or should I leave you to your thoughts for a while?

I think hunting some monsters would do me some good. If you have the time, I mean.
