[So Kanaya has pretty much no experience with romcoms. She never had time to watch them, and even when she did, she wasn't much fond of them. But this was vital. It would definitely make it easier to bring up what they needed to talk about.

So she's plopped on a couch in front of one of the creepy televisions with a selection of romcoms picked out, staring cluelessly at the pile of boxes and hoping Karkat would get there soon.]

[Just as he said, Karkat arrived in short order, hands stuffed in his pockets and a rather straight-edged expression on his face. His eyes were immediately drawn to the collection of romcoms, which seemed to brighten his mood slightly.]

We can watch Not-Troll-Nia-Vardalos Tackle The Challenges Of Her Mid-Life Crisis While Trying To Disassociate Herself From Her Family Who Is Too Focused On Their Foreign Lifestyle To Realize That She Is In Love With Not-Troll-And-Not-Foreign-John-Corbett Before They Decide To Get Married And Get Forced Into A Foreign Style Wedding Where Everything Goes Wrong.

[Karkat is pretty engrossed in the movie, and its probably the only time anyone will hear him laughing. The jokes aren't always funny, but he seems to generally enjoy what's on the screen in front of him.]

Her life sucks until John Corbett comes along.

But the movie sucks.
