I spent some time looking through the network backlog and tracking down the posts that the tower administrators have made before, and I have to say, I'm underwhelmed. A whole lot of ambiguous morals, incoherent and vaguely creepy requests for user log in, and a distressed child. Not a whole lot of answers.

So who's been around for a while? Is there anyone that's been here the longest? And do you have anything to add to the above, because I'm all ears. Even if we can't find a way out, it's worth trying to pool our information.

Before anyone asks why I'm saying this on the network that they presumably monitor, hey, I'd love to talk to them.

In the meantime I'm going to see if I can find out what keeps putting this thing on the fritz every so often, because it's majorly annoying, and also may be connected to something. Anyone computery want to help me out with that?

ancestors and descendants are supposed to be trolls who share blood colour and symbol, baΨcally.
theoretiically we would have a lot of the same genes, iin order to be that Ψiimiilar.

I think maybe the trolls that have appeared here are really important, in the history of your world, so those are the ones the tower is more interested in? It's just a guess, but none of you seem exactly like small fry in the grand scheme of things. But yeah, I was talking about Dualscar. I think I'm supposed to find him offensive, but I just can't bring myself to.

I'm a witch! Kind of like a mage. I can draw on energy in myself, in other people, or from the planet I'm on (which has been Earth up until the tower happened). It's a learned skill. I think yours is impressive enough on its own.

as for dualscar... well, 'offenΨiive' iis a relatiive term ii guess. he's never done anythiing wrong by the standards of our culture. he's totally wiithiin hiis riights to demand superiior treatment.

Tell me about it, it's way confusing. I've mistaken someone for someone else like six times already, which is super embarrassing. But I'm glad you and your descendant get along so well! That must be really nice.

Well he's plenty offensive by my cultural standards, but he's also kind of stoic for a really effective Big Bad, in my opinion. ... Wait, what do you mean you can't fight back? What's preventing you? [Cause she's sure about to offer to help at the drop of a pin if she can.]

Theoretically anyone can learn it, but it has some inborn talent associated. Everyone's naturally better at certain things than others, and magic is one of those things. But it still takes some know-how to use. My powers sort of do whatever I want them to that I have enough juice for, to be honest?

dualscar and the condesce, my two former owners, don't really want to accept that ii'm not anymore.
and Ψiince ii can't really argue diirectly wiith them, iit's hard to conviince them otherwiise.

sounds really powerful. maybe ii can get lessons sometiime. don't know what ii could offer iin exchange, though. my kiind of magiic requiires iinborn talent.

I know this doesn't mean much, but I'm so sorry. Is there anything I could do to help? Mental magic is really tricky and delicate so I'm not sure we want to jump right into that, but... I can make protective things if that would help. I've done that before.

Gosh, everyone's so keen to learn magic from me. It's actually a lot harder than it seems and takes a long time to get anywhere - a long time as in, like, sweeps. Maybe we could just do a show and tell and see if we could apply what we learn from each other to what we can already do.

Well I believe in you! And he seems like a really good moirail to have, so I bet you'll get things sorted out. I know this stuff isn't easy, but crazier things have happened.

I'm not thinking about having years. It freaks me out to imagine being away from my friends for that long, when I don't know what kind of situation they're in. Showing each other powers and stuff would be much preferred.

Is what you can do anything like Sollux? Cause he's way better at flying (and blasting things to smithereens) than I am. We met when the tower was getting renovated.

not that iit matters why. once SS deciides to do somethiing, he giives iit 150%, always.

see, for me, thiis tower iis actually an iimprovement on where ii was before ii came here.
ii was wiired iinto the battleshiip of the condesce as her helmsman, wiith no real miind of my own left.
and liikely to stay that way for at least the next fiifty sweeps or so, untiil my lifespan runs out.
not to mentiion that SS had been horriibly tortured to death iin front of us about a sweep ago.
so, no matter how bad iit gets here, ii'm grateful and ii hope iit lasts forever.

Oh no, I wouldn't think that! Being moirails is a really big deal, isn't it? I don't think he'd agree to it because he felt obligated. You guys seem really good together, from what you've said.

Maybe you could find a way to go to someone else's world if we ever find a way out, instead of going home. If that's something you wanted to do. Interdimensional travel is possible where I'm from, so why not?

I could really use the pointers on flying, that's for sure. It seems way useful but I need to refine my control or it'll suck up all my energy really fast each time. If there's anything in particular you want to learn, too, we can give that a shot!

I think it'd be almost impossible to separate circumstances like this from romance. At least, that's how it works for my life. If you start judging things based on why they happened, well, I don't think you'd get anywhere.

It sounds unbearably nifty to me. I've never done it before, but I know some people that have, and it's like all the rules change while you're there. That could be just what you're looking for. But... yeah, being alone is probably the worst thing you could ever do to someone.

You can at least watch and mock! An important part of the learning process. I know a bunch of telekinetic defensive techniques, so I'm sure I could at least teach you those. If you can learn barriers, that would really be the best.

Speaking as someone who's more or less been the moirail of the village hero, responsible for saving the world time and time again... it's because they're people, too. They try to do everything and save everyone, but at the end of the day they have their own problems. They get lonely same as everyone else. Having someone that they don't need to be "on" for can be a big deal, and somehow I really doubt that he'd agree that you don't do a lot for him.

Trust me, friendly mocking comes naturally to all beings everywhere. You'll get the hang of it. Let me know when you want to meet up, and I'm totally there!

Oh yeah, definitely. Only it usually is Buffy's responsibility. She has a mystical destiny and prophecies and the whole shebang, very mystical. She can't really say no.

It is pretty dead sometimes. Either I'm being attacked out of the dark or it's dudsville and I'm trying to bury myself in library books. I love the library, but this is starting to get to be excess library time. I'm going to have to start making more surprise enforced social visits to people.
