I need something to do, so. If anyone who's run into a demon-slash-monster in the tower could reply with what they know about it, I'd really appreciate it. I'm going to try to put together a list of all the ones we know of, so we can be prepared and maybe know their weak spots in advance when we run into them.

You can use this form if you want, but you know, whatever you want to say is fine. If someone else has already described it, could you reply to their thread and say where you saw them, and add anything they missed? Thanks, this'll really help.

Monsters. Most of what I have is about a type called 'Heartless'. Has anyone else told you about them already?

No, I've never heard of them. Is Heartless anything like soulless? Cause I have some experience with that.

I've never heard of anything soulless, but... generally a Heartless is created when a person looses their Heart to Darkness. There are two subcategories, though I've only one in the tower... so far at least. The first type is called 'Pureblood' - they come in different forms and sizes, but all of them have black skin and yellow eyes.

So not so much like being soulless. [She listens attentively, taking careful mental notes with all the acuity of someone used to listening to the weekly exposition on demons.]

Did they really used to be people? Is there any way to free them from that?

Most of them, yes.

And yes, generally there is a way... but I doubt it matters in this place.

Why wouldn't it matter? You think they're not like they usually are if the tower's pulling them in, or it's impossible to do here?

[Cause Willow doesn't want to kill them if there was a way to return them back to normal. No one deserved to be stuck like that.]

Former. Not to mention that freeing a Heart doesn't automatically return it to becoming the person it once was. I only know of one case where a Heartless actually returned to being human and that was... very special circumstances.

You can't actually kill them. When a Heartless is defeated but its heart not freed, it just reappears in another place.

Yeah. Just Purebloods right now.

... That sounds extra annoying. What do you do to take care of them? Just keep fighting the same ones in an endless Groundhog Day?

[You must have to get rid of them permanently at some point, right?]

As said, there's a method to release the heart. Once it's freed the Heartless disappears as well. But yeah... otherwise there's no end to fighting them.

[It's annoying, but that's just the way it is.]

There isn't much that can be done, aside of warning people to be careful when encountering them and make sure to have them know how to defend themselves. Magic and magical weapons work pretty well against them, even though they can't defeat them for good.
