Has anybody seen anyone named Minato, Chidori or Ken?

The Minato with Samael, I mean.

Does anyone know where they are?

[She hears the distress in his voice, and flinches at the sound of it- not that he can see- the tone reminding her far too much of her nightmares.]

I am alive and unharmed.

['OK' was relative, however. Physically, she was fine. Mentally, however, was another ordeal entirely, and she didn't really want to think about answering that if he should ask her properly.]

I take it that means you're not doing so well in the noggin.

[Come on, he's known you for way too long for your word play to fool him.]

I'm fine.

[A lie of course, but she did her best not to let it sound like one- the last thing she needed was any of them worrying themselves over her.]

[OK screw it, let's jump right to the heart of the matter.]

What happened?

[She won't bring the nightmares into this, not unless he does- and she really hopes that he won't. They're the last thing she wants to think about, even if they keep pushing to the front of her mind. So instead she goes even quieter than usual, voice tightly controlled.]

[You know what she did- it was you she did it to, after all.]

[That was. Concerning. Thankfully he was feeling...a little better.]

[She still hurt you, because you hurt Ken. And then Minato was hurt by both having to witness it and having to dispatch her at her own request. It is not a moment she's proud of... nor is it one she wants to keep thinking about.]

[Not that she could see it, but he was shaking his head.]

[Going down was sure a lot better than hurting the others or letting Moros have his way.]

[It remains unsaid that she'd have been alright with the outcome if it was her as well, but she's sure she doesn't need to tell him that much.]

[There's no use apologizing for things that couldn't be helped, really. Besides, she doesn't blame him for it- if anything, she blames these tower assholes for it.]

[Just accept it damnit!!]

[You are so difficult sometimes, honestly.]

I already said it's alright, but if you insist, then I accept. Better?

[He's your brother figure, it's kind of his job.]

If I don't take responsible for this asshole plaguing my mind, then that just means that's another part of it I don't control.

[And he was flat out fed up with his lack of control.]

[She knows how he feels, to a degree- but agonizing over it will only lead to undue stress, and neither of them need any more of that.]

I don't care. They can take away as much as they want from me, but Moros is something in my own damn head that I can control. That's good enough for now.

I doubt they can manage that- though you're fortunate to have as much control over him as you do.

[It's a shame that she can't say the same re: Medea, sob.]

It's not enough. You saw how I lost my shit in that place. He may not show up when he wants, but he still fuck up my head and-- I'm done with that.

[Almost--pained him to say it. He'd come to recognize how bad Takaya had been by now-- and even seen himself acting like him, looking back at the Labyrinth. But still...]

[Chidori had never been a fan of the way Takaya had treated others, but more especially of how he'd taken to speaking to Jin; it had always set her on edge to see them together without Minato around.]

But you're smarter than he was.

[She believes in you, in her own way, Jin.]
