1st Sand Coffin [Video/Action]
[Gaara has read the letters, and thinks this is just another sadistic experiment at the facility. He gets up out of bed and curiously looks around the room, making a mental note of the trunk. Where is the communication device? It might have been misplaced during the transfer. He needs to find a way to access the public network.
He leaves the room and walks swiftly through the hallways in a brief exploration. Eventually, he wanders into the library and finds a computer, recognizing the electronic device from the facility. With some experience, he navigates the functions and figures out how to post a video.
He stares impassively at the screen for a few seconds.] Doctors, Consortium, Val. [Addressing all three to see which one, if any, would actually respond to his call.] This is an amateur tactic. Rather disappointing.
[Now, to figure out what is this week’s experiment. They’re not on schedule for an F3 expedition. Strange.]
Sai. [Brief pause.] Kankuro, Temari. Report in.

If by recent you mean within the last seven days, then yes.
[The violet collar is peeking through from behind the collar of his over-sized jacket.]
[The redhead frowns, a bit perplexed by the change in collar and design of his collar. It was always only black, silver, and gold. Why purple now…?]
......
[He reaches toward his own neck and feels the protruding tubes.]
…Have the collars been replaced with more restrictions?
[As far as Elian knew, it was better not to compare places just yet until he had more information.]
The collars do not restrict us. However, it is important that you do attend the scheduled maintenance on a bi-weekly basis. I know not the consequence for skipping on appointments. It seems that they are coded by color. Mine is violet. The code is unknown at this time.
I would assume that the abuse of power would result in a restriction.
If their purpose wasn’t meant to be restriction, then they are useless. [He looks down, but can’t see the color of his collar at this angle. Not without a mirror.] What color is the one around my neck? [He didn’t commit the maintenance schedule to memory either, but it’s on the paper back in his room. Which also looks different from before.]
The restriction has always been lifted in F3 locations. The levels are reduced once the residents return to the F1 location.
[The ability to obtain more information about the place that has created so much pain and confusion among those he met is certainly important to him in better understanding where they come from. His passive features and stoic expression gave way to a nod.]
I would not discount the collar's uses just yet. I have yet to understand fully their function. Perhaps it is a means of classification. I have seen other colors. The lack of restrictions has me bothered.
[His lips twist in a slightly wry look.] Of course not. Classification? [He folds his arms across his chest.] I doubt the Doctors would answer, if posed with that question.
The usual colors are black, silver, and gold. Are there other new colors?
[His next words are muttered in a dry tone.] The current lack of restriction is related to the appearance of monsters. For whatever reason, they choose not to condemn the residents to death. At least, not the warriors.
The civilians, however, require protection.
[Still impassive, he does regard Gaara's expression with a slight tilt to his head.]
There are some civilians that are best suited in support than altercation. There are some that have proven to be rather stubborn if not exhibit insanity in one way, shape, or form. The unpredictability has me intrigued.
Insanity… [He repeats quietly, hiding a flinch as he suddenly hears a loud bark of laughter inside his head.] Hmm. There are some civilians that behave more recklessly than others.
What is the current threat? I’ve yet to encounter any monsters.
[There's some static and a flicker on the screen before it comes back into view as Elian's fingers work to compensate for the signal.]
Interesting.
The monsters are on the upper floors. Reckless acts of valor do not equate glory. It will soon be forgotten. I am not a fighter in the same sense.
[He waits patiently, staring at the screen with some confusion.]
What is it?
Mmm. [He nods, keeping a mental note of it. He will need to explore soon, to get more information on the new place.] We are in agreement.
[A pause, and a curious look.] Are you a civilian?
[Addressing Gaara's question, he gives his response promptly.]
Negative. Back home, I was the communications engineer and head systems manager. I am the system, or was, considering our current situation. My father was Commander Martin Zigmarl. I am called Elian. It may not mean anything to you directly, but it is who I am.
[He has no idea who that is, but it's not very surprising. Gaara assumes he is from another world.]
So you are an engineer. Are these collars beyond the technological capabilities of your world?
[Gaara shakes his head.] I am not familiar with that name.
[His fingers worked the terminal in front of him that he created at a rapid pace. His eyes remained focused and unblinking as if his mind and the machine were acting as one complete being. An error message comes up.]
The collars are not known to me. My Absolute Perception cannot find any information on it other than the maintenance schedule and the colors. There is nothing else beyond that.
The technology presents itself as a challenge despite the lack of information that coincides with the device.
Is that an ability you use to acquire information? [It has a name, which is similar to the concept of ninja techniques.]
That shouldn't be surprising. [He nods once in understanding.] If people were easily able to decipher and dismantle the collar, then it would be ineffective.
[Elian saw no need to hide any information should the right questions be asked. Holding anything back would be catastrophic to their survival. As long as the questions weren't anything too personal about himself, he wouldn't be answer them using his Perception.]
The information is locked.
That will be sufficient, for the time being. Every system has a weakness, regardless of appearances and perception. There will come a time when their defenses can be penetrated.
[He gives him a slight nod of acknowledgment.]
Your cooperation is appreciated, Elian.
[Elian gave a nod to his head in response.]
You are welcome. Goodbye.
[It seemed like a good end to the conversation considering that Commander Zigmarl often said the same thing, and it drew things to a close.
The screen flashed the HOLY symbol before it turned black.]
