One Keyhole Sealed. [ video ]
[ Kairi's used to winding up in different worlds, but something about this just seemed off. She couldn't find hide nor hair of Tifa and Aerith, much less Riku and Sora, and that worried her. Were they taken from right under her nose or no?
She had so many questions, but didn't know if she had the time for them. However, she needs to get to the bottom of this to go home. ]
Ah, I hope I'm using this right...
For those who might not know me, I'm Kairi and...I'm not really sure why I'm here, so information on my surroundings would be more than helpful. Thank you for your help.
Also, if anyone has seen two women who go by the names Tifa Lockhart and Aerith Gainsborough, could you let me know where they are? More importantly, if anyone knows where two others - boys who go by the names Riku and Sora, that would be extremely helpful. I'll try my best to repay you, too.
Now how do you turn-- [ The feed goes silent after that. ]
( OOC: You can also bug her here! )

There are thirty-eight floors. Each one has a different theme thereby the effects of each floor has different effects on powers and abilities. I suggest exercising caution and I do not recommend going alone. I have yet to finish my exploration. I reached Level 7 before I needed to return to rest.
The collar that you are wearing must be maintained on a bi-weekly basis. I suggest checking with the infirmary to determine when you should go.
Your first meal should be the oatmeal. Otherwise bypassing it would make other meals incredibly lethal or uncomfortable. I would not recommend taking the risk.

Would you like to have someone to go with you to explore more of the tower? It might help to travel in pairs.
What exactly does the collar do?
...But, all right. I'll go ahead and eat the oatmeal.
no subject
Travel is not advised for me right now. I am detained. My knowledge about the collars ends here.

Detained how?

[He slowly shakes his head.]
That would not be acceptable. Your action could negate the purpose and possibly place you in danger.
[He slips into a somewhat human tone.]
Do not worry. I appreciate your willingness to try.

Well... all right. I hope you'll be safe, Elian.
no subject
...Safe?
no subject
Yeah! You know, making sure you don't get hurt no matter what it is. I'd rather to not have one of my new friends get hurt or be harmed under any circumstances.

[It was enough to make the orb around him crack. Shock became apparent on his face. He knows that she's not meaning any harm to him, but his mental barriers and emotional walls were breaking down. It was similar to Ishtar getting through to him when she saw his scars and how much she cared.]
No. She's not an enemy. What's happening?
I must not...this hurts...why does my heart hurt?
[His fist clutches the material of his jacket.]
I must not cry. What do I do?
no subject
[ She notices his reaction and worry crosses her face next. She knows he can't be accessed to, however she can still be there for him in spirit. ]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Have you ever had friends?
no subject
Neg-ative.
[Tears are pushed back, but they start to form. Emotions were a dangerous thing to have in his line of work. With no one here from his world, the bond he had with his world broke the moment he was brought here and he thought nothing about it since.
Now, memories flood his mind of his father, those he worked closely with, those terrible watermelons, everything that he missed rushed back.]
Please....stop it. It hurts...
no subject
It's because you're feeling again, isn't it? You've locked up those feelings again because you didn't want to be hurt or be burdened by them, right?
[ A pause and Kairi lifts her head so that Elian can see a genuine smile from her next. ]
I'll help you out, Elian, and that's a promise.
no subject
He never gave himself time to grieve for the losses he felt. A slow shake to his head, a new pain surfaces, his shoulders shake and he drops to his knees.]
Please...make it stop.
no subject
I promise. When you get out of there, I promise we'll spend a lot of fun time together, okay?
no subject
[He drops his head onto the terminal keyboard and breaks into sobs. The orb's shell is webbed with cracks instantly but it doesn't shatter.]
NO! NO! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO!? WHERE ARE YOU, FATHER?! I NEED YOU!
no subject
But, Riku did say that her heart was the door to light, so...
If Elian can feel it, her heart was trying to reach out to him to try to console him in spirit. ]
Ssh... It's going to be okay now.
no subject
[He continued his sobbing for a few minutes, his own emotional state caused the electronics that he was connected to spark and explode from the overload of psychic energy.
The barriers were put in place for a reason, and now with them gone, his power was nearly limitless for that short moment. The collar around his neck glowed intensely purple and sparked, knocking Elian out and shattering the orb.]
no subject
She notices the terminal sparking and places her own barrier around herself just to protect her. ]
...Rest well, Elian. I won't forget my promise.

A child of about three years of age sits in the shadows in a white, spandex suit with a black bar-code on the right side of his chest. The toddler is curled up, weeping in the corner.
A large hand comes into view. The voice is deep but calm. "It's okay. You can come out now."
The toddler doesn't look up at first. He's frightened and alone. The dark-blue hair was wild atop his head yet parted in the middle. "I...want my brother." The tiny voice was clear and well spoken for a child his age.
"I'm sorry, but he's not coming back." The gentle voice said in his baritone pitch.
"I want him back." Elian knew the truth. His twin died when the experiment had gone very wrong. His body shook in sobs, his knees drawn in tighter. "It's not okay. You're going to hurt me again."
Adults always hurt. The pain, always the pain, and the cold rooms never offered comfort. The toddler looked up with teal eyes brimming with tears and red from crying so much. The man saw the little face for the first time and gasped. "You are..."
"Go away!" Elian cried out and tried to hide further into that corner that simply wouldn't budge in it's rigid state.
The man stood frozen for a moment. His purple eyes widened in shock. He recognized the face of the infants that were born in this terrible place and this toddler was one of them just three short years ago that felt like an eternity. "Do you know who I am?"
"No." Elian's face buried in his arms once again. "You're a grown-up and grown-ups hurt me. They all do."
The man was wearing a similar suit. The pain on his face showed sorrow that soon turned into anger with his fist clinched. He decided to wait to exact his revenge and knelt down in front of the child. "I'm your father, Elian."
Elian's face slowly looked up from his arms to look at the man kneeling before him. "My... father? The scientists...called me a subject. I had no mother or father. Don't LIE TO ME!"
The sheet rock that covered the cinder blocks and concrete started to crack. The television set sparked as the outlet caught fire. The man quickly ran to put the fire out with a blanket he tore from the bed. "Damn!"
This child wasn't going to be easy to reach. The toddler watched the man that called himself his father put out the fire with considerable effort. Alter users, even children Alter users were dangerous. This man, why did he care to try? Shouldn't he run?
Elian stood up and outstretched his hand to create a vacuum to put out the flames. "You shouln't be here."
"I can't leave you here." The man said as he tossed the charred blanket aside. The man was tall. Very tall, broad shouldered and handsome, like Elian, he was a subject too.
"But why?" Elian asked quietly in a tiny voice. "My brother...I want my brother back."
"I know." The man knelt down to look at the saddened child eye to eye. "But right now, you have to worry about you now. Your brother was very sick. The experiment-"
"It made him bleed out of his ears. I watched." Elian said as he wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. "They said he hemorrhaged. He was screaming for me...I couldn't help him. I'm a bad brother!"
Before the man knew it, Elian dove into the man's arms and wept again. "Make it stop! Make the hurting stop, please, Mister!"
The man, gently caressed the child's back. "I promise, I'll do everything I can to help you."
Elian's cries echoed through the halls of the Facility. The bright white rooms and halls were no place of comfort, but there was one thing that thing now that made him feel human and he kept on crying until he fell asleep.
