001 Chakra Thread || [Accidental Text ---> Video]

[ Sasori has always been good with his hands. Very, very good, really (as much as is expected of an artist). Unfortunately, he is what one might refer to as 'old school'. Computers and such technology as he was staring at at the moment were rare to come by in Sunagakure.

He had never really operated a computer, unless it was one of those machines that had a big red button which read POWER or DO NOT PRESS, their functions obvious.

Whatever he was staring at right now, though, intrigued him. He could see hiragana scattered all over the keyboard, and bits of kanji, but-- ]

...Where are the remaining five thousand odd kanji?

[ Ridiculous. Where was the rest of this machinery that had the remaining alphabet?

And in trying to figure out what it did, Sasori presses a few buttons experimentally. ]

[ Which is when he presses something and it starts recording him... Sasori notices this and stares at the screen, continuing to press all the keys while staring at the screen, wondering if pressing anything will do something. Like-- Stop recording him?

[With all the recent turmoil, Gaara doesn’t feel particularly inclined to check on the network. But this strange post catches his attention.]

[At first, he thinks the person’s computer must be malfunctioning. And then the video turns on, which pretty much gives him the answer.]

…Sasori.

[A quiet mutter as Gaara masks his surprise. He wonders if the other is the one that he knew from the facility, or-]

You don’t know how to use the computer, do you.

[ Well, that makes him stop pressing random buttons. He was just in the middle of typing out another string of BOREDBOREDBOREDBORED, not that that is of any importance right now...

The video on the screen and the fact that the other person referred to him by name makes him quirk an eyebrow, ever so slightly. ]

...It didn't come with a manual.

[ Actually, he is rather embarrassed, but manages not to show it, mouth in a thin straight line. ]

[Voice]

It's quite an amusing device isn't it?

[Lucifer's voice is filled with mirth at Sasori's predicament. That isn't to say Lucifer wasn't at a loss for how to work technology the first time he had encountered it, but that had been a long time ago. So clearly there's no folly in taking amusement at another's possible agitation.]

If you continue to fumble with it a bit longer I'm sure you'll get it. Practice makes perfect after all.

[No recognition. He’s probably a… clone. Or something. Gaara has already strained enough of his brain trying to draw the most logical conclusion.

He isn’t exactly in the mood to teach, so he just relays the most basic information: how to post using text, audio, and video, how to respond to messages, and how to check posts on the network. The other things like hacking and privatizing conversations can be saved for later.

At the end, he asks in a cool, detached tone.] Understood?

You have no idea what you're doing. [ Grunt ] Is the "off" button that hard to find?

[ Hm, so now there are voices coming through the device too. Sasori would have thought it strange, but he's not that dumb, thankfully. ]

It's not. But turning it off was not my intention.

[ And he won't admit to not knowing anything about computer. Brb figuring things out the hard way... 8( ]

The space key is your friend. Capitals are only for words at the beginning of a sentence. [ Someone who still uses the "hunt and peck" method to type has no right telling others they suck at typing, Lucy. ]

We don't follow that system with hiragana or kanji.

[ But here, he's going to press the space bar (he figured that it's what you meant since he had tried it out during the experimental phase you just witnessed) and a few other buttons in combination and send in: ]

[ And he doesn't even know, but switches back to audio. ]

Where are the rest of the letters--

[ Brb trying to take the computer apart and look for a second keyboard. All that banging you hear? That's him. ]

[ Oh, right, not all of the terminals are the same. Huh. Now that she thinks about it, using the ones with hiragana seems easier...now she has to go find those for the next time. ]

[ He is not made of wood anymore, and he's wearing his black Suna clothes. Hopefully that should be a hint?

Sasori had read the letters and figured his things were in the trunk. Who packed them in there, he had no idea. He certainly didn't remember planning a road trip, and the uncertainty that he was sent here, contrary to what the letter said, bothers him. Who sent him and why?

And what did he need rescuing from? If anything it was everyone else who needed rescuing from him.

But he listens patiently to what Gaara has to 'teach' him, and while he is being taught, happens to try all the options too. ]

[Gaara already knows he looks different from the last time he saw him at the facility. That could be because of the clothing that the tower provided. Either way, it's of little importance to him.]

[He stares at those symbols, classifying them as "emoticons" as they had been referred to, at the facility. He knows some himself, but rarely uses them. Right now is definitely not the time or place for such playful gestures.]

Yes. There are more characters than what appear on the keyboard. You need to utilize the "shift" key.

[Seriously, what the hell is with all the symbols... Gaara is just going to glance at them with cool indifference and then move on.]

There are also hidden text menus. ...But I suppose you are content with pushing random keys.

[ If that's cute, you should see his real face. It's adorable. But you know, most sociopaths are... Aren't they? ]

I find it rather suspicious that somebody took the time to pack my belongings and redress me before I was relocated.

Mm, a horror movie. [ He's only seen a few. ]

It's only a matter of time before somebody decides to walk upstairs alone. [ Because that's how all the horror movies went. A bunch of people find shelter in some creepy place, and one of them decides to check out the attic on their own. Said person never makes it out alive. ]

And, locating the 'shift' key, Sasori tries a few characters, satisfied that it somewhat answers that problem. But, there are other more pressing issues, and he doesn't look up at the screen from his typing when he says: ]

I would appreciate being told about the hidden text menus, but first-- [ He looks up here. ] Have we met?

[He huffs a single breath of impatience and contemplates cutting the conversation short. This is going to take a while if he has to walk him through all of the various functions of the computer. The basics should suffice for the time being-

-and then Sasori asks him a question that gives him pause. He recalls how the puppet master had been at the facility, and there was also his partner...]

You and I, no. [A vague, but truthful answer.] I simply know what you will become.
