[Feferi looks...tired. That's all you can really say about her, when she lets the video come on. She looks like she hasn't slept much, and she looks like she's gone somewhere to cry for a few minutes before calming down enough to speak.]

H-hi, everyone. I hope everyone's all right?

I - mm. I was going to ask whether or not anyone else's roommates weren't waking up, but...

...what do you do when this place finally gets to you? I've been trying not to - to let it, but...I think I just really need some friends right now. I was up by the aquarium earlier and I think I'm gonna go back up there.

[She wipes at her eyes, and she thinks she's cut the feed, but:]

...it's never easy, this whole 'actually needing to step up and make decisions' princess stuff...

[He gives her a warm smile and a wave then, before switching it off to go meet her there.
He's practicing by himself by the time she makes it, though does stop when she arrives, giving her another smile.]

[She manages a smile, then heads on off to her room. A few minutes later, Feferi's pulled her hair back a bit, splashed some cool water on her face so it doesn't look so bad, and gotten her uniform on. She arrives at the meadow a few minutes later, waving lightly and managing another small smile.]

You don't have to smile for my sake, Feferi.

[Her managed smile gets a natural one from Genda, and he brings the ball over to her, holding it out for her.]

Do you know why I play and practice soccer, even here?

[Feferi starts to reply, but then stops. He's got a point; she wouldn't ask someone else to force a smile.

Either way, taking the ball helps. She kicks it a couple of times before bouncing it off her knee and back into her arms.]

Is it like why I keep swimming? And keep trying to make everyone else smile?

Maybe, maybe not.
It's for the memories - when I play, all I think about is the ball, and the feelings that have been put into it.
All my friends, and teammates, and everything I work for. Soccer brings about many good memories of them all, both old and new.

[Genda watches her kick the ball around, and he can't help grinning about it - she's picked it up really quick!]

I want you to be able to feel the same when you play.
I know you don't have the same kind of memories I have with soccer - but that's okay.
We can make new ones for you - together.

[Those are not tears in her eyes. That is just something that has gotten in her eyes. She means it.

...oh, who is she kidding. Those are definitely tears in her eyes, but they're not sad tears. They're the kind that come when something's really touched her heart in the right way.

So she sets the ball down - carefully - and rubs at her eyes, then proceeds to hug Genda.]

I didn't even think about things like that. I got so caught up in all the other big stuff, all the princess stuff, but...I think I need some memories like this. Thank you.

[Seeing her like this is definitely why he came - that smile on her face, and that hug... it's getting returned in the biggest, warmest way!

Because out of everyone, he can tell she needs it the most.]

[What to do when you are not entirely sure what the rules are when it comes to silly impulsive actions towards someone you are definitely sure that you have developed feelings of the ♥ variety towards? There's a second where Feferi just isn't quite sure.

Then she decides, giggles, and kisses him on the cheek.]

[W-w-wait, did she just - she totally did. Genda's face is going a bright shade of red then, and he... gently touches his cheek in disbelief.
... What was the meaning behind it? Was it a gesture of gratitude?

[And she blushes herself, from her cheeks to the tips of her ear fins. Was that the wrong thing to do? Do humans not do that? Is it something you only do when someone's dying and you need to bring them back? Oh no oh no oh no...]

[But wait. There wasn't any pushing away going on. Was cheek-touching good, then? This is so confusing! And - well, yes, she likes him, she has for a while, she's liked him since before that party. Maybe she was just too soon acting on it? What to do here? Oh glub...]

[She blushes even harder, and her ear fins go the color of her face. The moment she's about to ask, she's being pulled into another one of those giant hugs, and she thinks that might be an answer, but she still needs to ask.]

[He's trying to be articulate, but it's hard when he just wants to be a goofy kid and smile and blush and cover her in hugs -]

I really, really do, too.

[She squeals happily and hugs him, all smiles and giggles and pink cheeks. What is restraint. It is not a thing she knows, okay.]

[He'll be lifting her up then too, his own face pink, but he's frankly too happy not to care. She's so darling - and so sweet, too!]
