[ During the chaos, Wilhelm hadn't been seen at all, until almost a full hour into the monster flood. Despite the screams, violent shaking of the tower, and the destroyed barrier, Wilhelm seems abnormally calm, staring into his compass. For a while, the video continues like this, until Wilhelm takes a sip of his wine, and calmly moves his hand towards a chess piece, only slightly moving it across the board. ]

It begins.

[ He comments quietly. The room he's in appears to be one of the lower levels of the Tower, clear of monsters, at least for now. There's books, of course - Floor Three? - but Wilhelm seems to have found a rather deserted corner of the room without a whole lot in it, to set up his temporary compass-staring desk. ]

[ Directly to T!Allen: ]

Allen, I will need you to find and collect a few people for me, to ensure they are not harmed. Do you understand?

Ormus worship it. Several people wish to use it as a weapon, as well. Unfortunately, they do not realize that the Zohar is far too dangerous for them to properly handle.

Only I can do that.

... What's Ormus?

Ever since humanity migrated into space, Ormus has since become the largest religious organization in the galaxy.

[technologic]

I see, and so they worship the Zohar... Which you have possession of. [A pause for a few moments.]

... Who is the head of it?

[oforder]

A man by the name of 'Heinlein.'

[ Which may or may not be an alias of his that he used not just for heading Ormus, but also his largest corporate competitor, the Hyams Group. ]

Uh-huh... And what's the religion that Ormus follows?

[oforder]

It is based heavily upon Gnosticism.

[technologic]

[Another confused look.]

... Gnosticism?

[oforder]

What year are you from, April?

[ He just realized he's never asked. Most people here seem to be from A.D., however. ]

[technologic]

[She thinks for a moment.]

Umm... We don't really keep track of the years anymore back home, but I'm assuming it's around 2300 or so.

[oforder]

Interesting.

Gnosticism has existed for a great, long while. If our universes are similar, it should be much more popular in your year than it was three centuries earlier.

[technologic]

Ah, my world has... had some problems. So, religion in general is something very few people follow and barely anyone has much knowledge about it.

[oforder]

What kind of problems?

[technologic]

[April fidgets for a moment and glances away.] ... Like a massive world war that destroyed everything about 100 or so years ago. And, um, resulted in the loss of nearly all history and culture, so now my home is a lawless, culture-less, post-apocalyptic wasteland.

... So, uh, problems like that.

[oforder]

I see. It seems your world is on an entirely different course than mine.

[ He almost frowns. Almost. ]

That is unfortunate.

[technologic]

It's... not all bad, though. I'm working with a group to help rebuild everything, and even if it'll take a long time, we'll get things back to how they were before.

[oforder]

What is this group called?

[technologic]

[That makes April pause. Huh, she had never thought of naming it... Then again, she had never expected for many people to join in the first place.]

... It doesn't have a name, to be honest. It's only really known as 'the group', since it's pretty much the only organized group in the wastelands.

[oforder]

I see.

What turned the world into a wasteland?

[technologic]

A war. It ended in a mass, chain reaction of explosions that destroyed everything.

[oforder]

I could have predicted that. The only thing more dangerous to humanity than outside influence... are themselves.

[technologic]

Yup. Though hopefully in the future, they'll look back to that war and decide that fighting over something isn't worth it.

[oforder]

Humans will never learn that.

[technologic]

But they might learn to not let it get to the point where everything is destroyed again.

[oforder]

They will never learn. What I have implemented is a way to ensure that this fundamental flaw in humanity does not become their undoing.
