[ The last few hours had been a blur, Aerith could vaguely remember going to the City of the Ancients and she could somewhat recall going down a seemingly endless series of steps on a glass staircase, and maybe Cloud was there? But she couldn't quite focus on what had happened after that as she had been so rudely awaken by the sound of crashing and sensation of the room shaking.

The young Cetra sat up with a start, in an unfamiliar place and couldn't help but panic. She quickly scanned the room and spotted something that might just help her. A small device that resembled her PHS! Launching from the bed she had been ~~snoozing~~ laying on she reached for the object and began to fiddle with it, inadvertently turning the video broadcast system on. ]

Oh what was his number? Oh-seven... nine?

If I could just have my PHS with me this wouldn't be a problem! Who can remember strings of numbers like that? That's why they have address books in them!

[ A sudden thud against the tower walls caused her to stumble, at which point Aerith noticed herself displayed on her new PHS ]

Oh! That's me!

Is this sending out this is a video? Who's it sending it to? Maybe it's just broadcasting it to everyone? Well that's more sophisticated than what I used to but alright.

[ Aerith clears her throat and stumbles again as the room continues to feel the tremors from above ]

Hello?

Is anyone there? I think you have the wrong person, I'm not meant to be here right now.

And well...try and stay with me on this, buuuuuuut a giant Space whale kind of crashed into the tower and a whole bunch of monsters have been set loose.

J-Just trust me on this. The Tower's pretty weird. Anyways, where are you? I'll come by and get you and bring you down to the lower levels.

[Huh, she's not that far from his room.

Well in any case, Cross goes towards Aerith's room and knocks on the door.]

Miss?! You in here!?

[ She jumps with a start, that was much quicker than she had banked on ]

Hello?

[ With a moment's hesitation Aerith goes to open the door ]

[When the woman opens up the door, Cross will give her a small salute. Have to act a little professional, right?]

Hi there, do you have everything you need? We're not gonna be able to come back after.

[ Aerith dithers for a while, picking up a few key items from the room (namely a bit of make up, some materia and her new "PHS", she turns back to the boy and nods hesitantly ]

Alright, I suppose that will have to do!

All right. Come with me than.

[He'll extend a hand to her to take. But offers her a reassuring smile. He noticed her hesitation so he wants to try and make her as comfortable as possible.]

My name's Cross and I'll be sure to keep you safe, all right?

[ Aerith was, sadly, quite used to being the damsel in distress. It wasn't a role she really liked but somehow she ended up fitting it. With a small smile she tood his hand and stepped closer ]

Thank you Cross, I'm Aerith by the way. Aerith Gainsborough.

[Holding her hand tightly enough so he had a firm grip, but not enough to actually crush her fingers, he turned to the hall.]

Nice to meet you too, Aerith. I just wished it were under better circumstances.

[Giving her a thumbs up, he grinned.]

I'm counting on you to watch my back!

[It wasn't to baby her or anything. He just honestly wanted to work together.

But soon he started to pull her a long a bit, hoping she'd keep up, as he started to run with her towards the stairs.]

Don't worry Cross, I'm tougher than I look!

[ Aerith guaranteed as she followed him, keeping her hand in his ]

Hm, do you know where you're going?

I won't be surprised if you are!

[And as they're running, Cross is just scanning with his visor to try and find a path that has little to no monsters on it. Because, probably better to avoid getting mauled.]

We're going down to the first floor and judging how high up we are, it's a long way down.
