[ Ishtar looked a little worse for wear, but she seemed to be holding on. The past week had been a bit of a disaster to deal with. She wasn't expecting to be chased by monsters and running around like a madman. She was glad that it finally looked better now, even though it probably wasn't. ]

Does this happen often? You know...monsters on the loose, and stuff?

[ She mused. She didn't know how else to approach this situation. ]

Because this is going to be one hell of a stay if it happens often.

[ She raised her brow. Her expression suddenly changing into a more concerned one. ]

Is everyone okay? If anyone needs help dressing wounds, or healing then I can offer my abilities. They're not great, but I can patch you up real well? If you need anything at all, please tell me. I don't mind helping around and about.

Elian, are you alright? Gaara, I haven't seen you at all since the attack. Tell me your location at least. Duzie, I know you're around somewhere, but be careful alright? Hei and Yusuke, you guys are fine right? Sorry I got you guys in a little trouble there when the monsters attacked.

[ Ishtar looked at him with a serious expression on her face. ]

That's not important right now. Lessons can wait.

[ She replied furrowing her brows. ]

Are you okay? How's your body?

[He nods his head. There were more important matters to attend to that took priority.]

I'm recovering. The fatigue was a bit of a distraction but I feel fine otherwise.

[ Yes there were, like his health and his body. He was exhausted then. Ishtar didn't want to believe he was okay right now. He seemed far from it. ]

I still want to check up on you soon if you can come by my room or the clinic if it's accessible still.

[ She mused in a soft tone. ] You gave me a scare there kiddo.

I'm sorry.

[He speaks softly. He knows that he pushed himself pretty hard then, and it wouldn't be the last time either. Next time, he'll be stronger which is the fate of Alter users. They grow strong until they reach their peak and die.]

I didn't mean to worry you. I put my life behind all others.

You don't have to apologize. There is nothing you need to apologize for, Elian. I'm just glad you're alright.

[ She replied softly as well. She wanted to reassure him that she wasn't mad at him. She knew that he was doing what he could to help others. She wouldn't blame him for anything that happened to himself. ]

It's normal for me to worry about people, silly. I worry everyone all the time too. [ She laughed a little. ]

I kind of do the same, but seriously, lemme look you over for any injuries.

One moment.

[It takes him about five minutes to get to the infirmary. At first appearance, he appears fine until she checks his ears.

He crawls up onto the medical bed much like a toddler climbing up onto a couch since the beds are so high. He doesn't complain about his condition, but his ears have been aching since that day when they bled.]

[ Ishtar nodded her head. ]

Alright.

[ She replied with a small smile. Ishtar waited for him to come by. When he finally did, she was glad to see him, but she could tell he looked drained. He did look fine, and his ears were looked over before, but she seriously didn't trust her first look of it earlier since they were in a rush. ]

Thank you for coming. I just don't want you to be hurt if you are.

[ She walked over to him and knelt a little as he climbed on top of the bed. She really just wanted to hug the poor boy right now. He looked so...well miserable. ]

Lemme check your ears again, okay? If there's anything wrong, I'll try to use healing for them.

[He flinched slightly the moment she touched them. They were beginning to show signs of infection from neglect and from the push he kept forcing himself to do each time he used his shields. He pushed himself beyond exhaustion and more towards body decomposition.]

They hurt.

[ Ishtar was trying to be careful as she examined his injuries. She should have looked at them when it happened, instead of now. She couldn't change the past, but she certainly had to make sure that his ears would get better. ]

I think you might have gotten an infection from not getting this sterilized and stuff.

[ She furrowed her brows. Ishtar reached over to a nearby cupboard and grabbed a couple of things, including q-tips and rubbing alcohol. There were a couple of other disinfectants that she found but the usual would be fine. ]

I'm going to have to disinfect it. It's going to hurt no lie, but I can heal them as soon as I disinfect it, so it won't hurt for too long.

[ She replied, her tone serious. ]

[He turned his head and winced. His small hands gripped the sheet tightly and nearly pulled the material off the moment Ishtar had started her work. He didn't cry out which would have made the pain worse. He bit down his yelp with a small squeak.]

It's okay if you want to scream in pain you know?

[ She mused, as she quietly disinfected it. She was a little upset that it took this long to be looked at. She wasn't mad at him, but rather at herself for not noticing sooner. ]

It's almost done...well the left side.

[ She replied with a small smile. ] Sorry kiddo.

[His hands gripped the sheet tighter. It wasn't that he didn't want to scream, he was conditioned not to scream. The moment she went for his right ear, that's when he couldn't take it anymore and cried out. With his ears this badly infected, he suffered nausea from it. He coughed out in a dry heave.]

I feel sick.

[ Ishtar didn't exactly know that so she couldn't stop herself from saying what she did. She knew he was in pain but she couldn't stop now. She had to make sure that the ear was disinfected correctly. If he did pass out from pain, she would be really worried and upset at herself. She hoped that he wouldn't pass out and that this would pass faster.

She removed the q-tip gently as she pulled up a small cloth with warm water. ]

I'm sorry, please bear with me a little longer, Elian.

I'll be okay.

[He tells himself that a lot. It's his way of coping. He shouldn't have let it go this far. He ignored it for too long now and he's paying for it. He felt guilty for getting mad at Ishtar the way he had and he moved his left hand to her wrist.]

I'm sorry I got mad the other day.

I hope so.

[ She wasn't really convinced to be honest. Ishtar didn't see why he was guilty. She was the one that forced him to come here, and forcing him to do other things against his will. It was for his health, so she didn't have much of a choice but to be persistent. ]

Seriously, kiddo, it's alright. You don't see me mad, do you?

[A bat quickly circles overhead, then flutters down, landing on Ishtar’s shoulder. He squeaks, telling the princess there are some monsters headed their way. They’d better get out.]

[Elian looked to the bat, then back up at Ishtar. He couldn't understand it, but he did get the feeling that this wasn't just some ordinary bat. They just don't behave like that.]

[ Ishtar rested one of her hands near his ear. ]

Alright, going to heal this now.

[ She mused, closing her eyes and starting with the first train of words. The language sounded foreign and probably not something that anyone would usually hear.

She removed her hand after she finished one ear to look over at the circling bat. She nodded her head. ]

Alright, kiddo one more ear and we're making our way down cuz I don't think it's safe.

[ Leaving out that she was listening to a bat. Elian was right to assume that it wasn't an ordinary bat. ]

[The bat squeaks louder, opening and flapping his wings. With echolocation, he can tell they're getting closer, and there isn't only one. The healing spell is a little impressive, but there's no time for praise.]

[Elian picked his head up after Ishtar healed his ears and looked at the staircase. His first instinct was his first action, to shield the infirmary to buy them some time.]

Let's go.

[He hopped off the bed as if nothing had happened even though he's very grateful for Ishtar's help and walked toward the staircase.]

Alright, alright, I got ya.

[ She quickly rolled her sleeves up and finishing the last of her incantations. She tossed the dirty things into the trash and stood up. Ishtar had a lot to prove to Duzell, but clearly this wasn't the time to be showing off. ]

Yeah, I'm coming, and don't you try to do anything too strenuous!

[ She spoke to Elian as she followed after him. ]

[The bat hops off her shoulder and flies ahead, blasting echoes in every direction to locate the monsters. He calls back a few squeaks of warning to the princess and her little human friend.]

[Elian looked at Ishtar and then back to the bat. If there was any chance to escape, they better do it now. He was more focused in keeping that shield up until they were clear.]

Understood.

[He followed the two out.]

[ Ishtar sighed. This was going to be a long day. She decided to take a detour down another hallway. ]

Good.

[ She pulled Sidia out. There was no way she was going to sit around and let Elian do all the fighting. Duzell certainly didn't need to get involved unless they were in grave danger or something. ]

It's a good thing we have you here, Duzie...Thanks.
