[Hey,  here's someone the tower probably hasn't seen in a long time!]

 I understand a lot has happened. At the very least, I assume the shadows are gone.

Considering the circumstances, I realize that there might be those who desire more filling meals, yet not be able to cook effectively. I'll be going on a hunt and try to provide some, but I encourage no one eats too much. [And this was coming from assassin pig.] Just to be safe and conserve food. Human beings can survive alone on water for quite some time anyway.

I also wish to know who creates weapons here. Ever since the incident with the "space whale" or however you refer to it, I was able to get my hands on materials from the monsters that swarmed. [And after dealing with the shadow, he needed new, better gear.]

I wish to thank you all for your aid back with the shadow. Without it, I may have not only died, but failed to realize the flaws within myself.

I am hoping for something to combat the more supernatural and magical foes, but I doubt that will happen. In any event, I at least hope to create some gadgets to help move around easier or to pick faults at foes.

For the time being, all I have are claws of some lizard, and shells from those crustaceans. Something can be made.

Breaking them by hand is impossible, at least not without cutting yourself extremely. These were apparently strong enough to rip through steel with ease.

[Its of no surprise to anybody who knows Elena that she's built something of a book fort on the table, her nose buried in one of the various reference books. And, yes, she's looking rather frustrated, seeing that she's not finding any sort of information that is relevant or helpful.]

[And it doesn't take long for Hei to arrive at Elena's location, gun tucked under his coat. As much as he liked being able to defend himself with the magic, Elena needed it more.

By the time he arrives and is before her, he takes out the gun, materia attached to it and placing it on the desk.]

[He's quiet. Very quiet. She hardly even noticed him until he got within 10 feet of her, earning a mildly-surprised, mildly-impressed look on her face. Putting down the book, she sits back, fingers interlocking in her lap.]

I was wondering who had come across it.

[It was almost rude how he presented the firearm to her, but from her experience with him it was merely the directness that he was prone to. Placing her hands on the table, she rose, picking up the firearm for a quick inspection.]

Consider it payback for your honest answer, and it helped me confront two strong enemies as well. The device on it I mean.

[Her eyes moved to where he was pointing, the green materia glittering beneath the overhead lights. Fingers worked the small orb free and held it in the palm of her hand.]

This is materia. Its a condensed form of Mako, which is made of my Planet's Lifestream. It allows the user to call upon certain magic, depending on the type of materia you own.

Yes. And considering the creatures I encountered earlier, proper tools must be made to effectively deal with those threats.
