They're (generally) humanoid combat vehicles. They're about 15 to 20 meters tall, usually.

It's the main method of combat in my world. All of us in the experiments were supposed to become pilots.

If I can ask the probably stupid question: how does experimenting decide if you're a pilot or not? Driving a car doesn't seem so hard, for instance.

It's not a stupid question, since you don't really know my world. It's not that experimenting decides if you're a pilot or not - but they wanted to make super soldiers. There's plenty of non-enhanced pilots. But they wanted to make it so we could survive in space longer, react faster, plan better, and communicate without having to speak, among other things.

With me they were trying to make someone capable of fighting Shadows and using a Persona.

A Shadow's kind of like a part of someone they don't admit exists, but given actual form. Accept it and it turns into a Persona, a kind of power you can use to fight other Shadows.
