[Jade's finally awake, but he doesn't feel like he is. As the sleep paralysis wears off slowly, Jade becomes aware he's not in his own room. Nothing felt right, not to mention that he never slept in his uniform, even if it wasn't the complete thing. When he could move, Jade pushed himself up in the bed, wincing as his joints made complaints at the sudden movement. Seeing the notes, he picked up the first and glanced it over briefly, a frown crossing his face. Immediately concerned, Jade tried to get out of bed, only to have the lingering effects of the sleep paralysis turn him into a jumbled mess of blankets on the floor.

When he's finally back up, muttering to himself about the damn situation, he seems to search for something and finds the collar around his neck. After a few good minutes of attempting to remove it or find some sort of catch, Jade gives up and he's heading to the door. When he opens it, he leans on the doorframe and rubs his eyes before he surveys the area.

This was entirely abnormal and Jade did not like it one bit. There seemed to be people around, so he wasn't the only one who'd apparently been kidnapped. The Tower? Auldrant was destroyed..? No, there had to be some other explanation. He wasn't stopped, so he assumed the environment wasn't as hostile as he'd initially thought.

Jade finally spotted a Terminal in his searching. Being at least somewhat decent at technology, he approached it and began to fiddle with it, figuring out just what to do with it and how in a few minutes. He didn't have control of the system, so 'Corpse Hunt' was certainly not a command he could use. Too bad this wasn't the Tartarus.

When he did figure out the video function, Jade appeared over the network with a stern expression, the dishevelment from before smoothed out.]

This Commander Jade Curtiss requesting to be properly informed on the situation immediately.

[Even if this was going to result in setting off an alarm, he'd get some reaction from the place that would explain the situation a bit better. At the very least, he'd get some answers.]

[Tear had no idea what the computer terminals were, so it was a happy coincidence that she was leaving her room to find Luke, and happened upon Jade at the computer.]

[Hearing the voice surprised Jade a bit more than he'd like to admit, so when he turned around, he was more or less ready to defend himself. See it was only Tear, he sighed in some relief and straightened up.]

Tear. You're here as well?

[She just continued to stare at him, because his glasses seemed to be missing.]

Colonel, Luke and Asch have also been transported here, but they both suffer from differing amounts of memory loss. Luke doesn't remember anything after our fight against Major Legretta at Deo Pass.

Luke informed me that he has been here for months. There are a group of administrators in charge of the tower that seem to be using the prisoners in some kind of experiment. There are many prisoners, and none have found a way to escape.

They also force you to eat oatmeal as your first meal.

[All rattled off like a good soldier.]

An experiment?

[And memory loss? It sounded like there were at least four of them here for now. Jade lapsed into thought, the stern expression lingering.]

Well, this seems a rather dismal situation. Is there anyone else here from Auldrant aside from Luke, Asch, you and I?

[Might as well get his bearings as best he can as well as set up a network of allies if he was able. Having companions here right off the bat was comforting in a way.

Action, duh.

[Oh hey, new roomie is awake- ooh, that had to hurt. He's silent for a brief moment, tilting his head to the side in curiosity.]

[Seriously it is not a Good Idea. Or so saith the dog not many people can understand. :( So instead he's just going to follow you around and try to help you any way he possibly can.]

[Jade looked in the direction of the barking from his spot on the floor. He looked perplexed for a moment, and wasn't sure what to think. He ignored the dog for a moment in favor of completing his attempt to get to the door and the terminal thereafter, dog apparently in tow.

After broadcasting the message, Jade held a hand down towards the dog to let him sniff and possibly pet it.]

[Yeah, most people were like that when they saw a dog wearing some sort of armor and two collars. One of which has wings on it. It's weird, but not as weird as the place someone just woke up in.

he poked Jade's hand with his nose afterward,sniffing it. Okay, memorized just in case. Hiii. New friend???]

[Jade gets treated to the sound of someone stumbling over themselves (and taking half the Tower with them) before Luke suddenly popped up on the screen, a pink cheagle sticking out of his coat.]

Jade!? They brought you here too?!

[All this time with no one from Auldrant here… and then everyone shows up at once. Damn the admins were assholes.]

[Jade stared back at the screen. Tear had mentioned memory loos, but it looked like Luke had receded physically as well. He moved to adjust his glasses, though they weren't there.]

Who are "they"?

The admins… they're the ones that 'save' people. At least that's what they call it.

[Another soldier, that much was obvious. The proverbial gears were already turning in Liquid's head, working out 'how can i turn this to my advantage?' Having another with combat experience would be valuable, but the question was if he was even remotely reliable. Commanders weren't always worth much--he knew that from experience.]

[Crossing his arms, the SEAL-uniformed soldier replied in a voice that was just as stern with a clear British accent.]

It's quite the long and absurd story. What organization are you with, soldier?

[Oh, he couldn't wait for this one. when even your narration is sarcastic, you know shit's about to get good.]

[Jade wasn't wholly prepared to give out his personal information to just anyone. And Jade was almost tempted to think the man wasn't a friendly. He'd be careful, but if he had the potential to be an ally, Jade would take advantage of it.]

...You're in a tower run by several administrators that would have you believe your world of origin is reduced to ash. Given the fact that I'm inclined to think this all their long and complicated series of experiments, the validity of such a concept is questionable at best.

[One could just taste the disdain and sarcasm in his voice. That's Cam Clarke for you.]

The 'how' regarding our arrival is an utter mystery, and the 'why' is vaguely defined as 'possibly an elaborate science project but who really knows'. In short, the population at large knows maddeningly little as far as I am aware.

...Liquid Snake, incidentally. Just call me Liquid.

[And here's the other redhead, last to the party as usual. Asch makes a point of clicking the heels of his boots on the floor as he approaches; it's the exact opposite of sneaking up on someone, and with Jade that's probably a good policy.]

So they dragged you here as well.

[It almost sounds like he's glad to see you. More likely, he's glad to see your brains.]

Jade turns to Asch, looking less than impressed.]

So it would seem. And all points to a lack of escape thus far.

[He's not happy about it, either, and wouldn't be even if happy was a thing he did.]

I guess for starters this place is a Tower? People have been taken here for reasons in those silly letters, but not many people believe 'em.

The Tower of Animus, correct? I've heard a decent amount about it thus far, though I'm curious as to why we're being 'saved' and then pitted against monsters.

Well I'm sure there are plenty of reasons. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because they wanted more people to mess with.

[ She shrugged a bit. Though, the sarcasm was pretty easily picked up. ]

It's their messed up way of saying 'We saved you, so you owe us. So have with the monsters.'

[ The girl mused in a sarcastic manner. ]

Hell, I still don't believe their 'We saved you,' crap. It sounds fishy to me.

[Well, considering Jade isn't quite excited looking, simply commanding and forward about his need for information, her particular introduction is met with the same attitude as his first words.]

I've found that being assertive is the easiest way to obtain information, from allies and those unwilling to help alike.

[After all, given the last three conversations he's had, it works really well.]

*A military type, huh? Well, this should at least be interesting. Even though Margulis looks like he's seen better days. That scar on his face especially looks like it isn't agreeing well with the cold, despite the fire he's set just outside the alcove.*

As I'm sure you're already aware, we're being held here under the pretence of our universes having been destroyed. The tower is controlled by four people who call themselves the administrators: Jason, Dax, Ruana and Riki. I've yet to learn much about Riki, but Jason treats us as experimental subjects, Ruana was experimented upon herself at one point but still treats the occupants of this tower cruelly and Dax is supposedly the most humane of the four.

Monsters roam the tower as well, particularly at night, and some of the floors are inherently dangerous. I wouldn't suggest leaving your room unarmed.

I have heard that it's rather dangerous. Is there a point to the floors aside from wanton violence?

As far as I've seen, no. My current theory is that they're either a product of Ruana's childish attitude or an ongoing psychological experiment of Jason's.
