I ain't sure walkin' around swingin' axe blades at anybody behind me is all that safe. But I can't really just stick anythin' on there and hope for the best.

What do people usually use if they wanna put some kinda guard on a weapon? [Counting off the following points on metallic fingers:] It's gotta be somethin' that ain't gonna get in the way of the thrusters, easy t' get off in an emergency, and lightweight so it don't throw me off balance.

I ain't really got measurements handy, but it's this one here.

[She's not remotely surprised by the size. She simply nods.]

I don't think it would be difficult at all to make a cover. All it would take is an individual sleeve for each blade with straps. The fasteners for each strap could be placed on one side of the blade so it could be removed quickly.

I'd need it t' not get too close to the thrusters, too. Or maybe be fire-resistant or somethin'.

Oh, I see the problem now. The axe can become part of your frame as a propulsion system, can't it?

Well, it would probably be possible to make a cover for the end of each blade out of some light-weight scrap metal. The inside could be padded so the blades wouldn't dull, and the padding would be protected from the open flame.

Yeah, that's right. It ain't quite an open flame, but I don't have any idea just how much heat it's generatin' and...ya know, better safe than sorry, right?

Somethin' metal sounds like a good idea, I think.

I'd love to! I guess my specialty is more in operating systems and programming, but I did spend some time learning about how KOS-MOS's weaponry was assembled. So really, it should be a piece of cake.

I'm pretty sure my software and operatin' system's workin' fine, and all I got for weapons are this and a chain arm.

I was made specifically so I'd be able t' develop a personality. I'm guessin' she wasn't?

KOS-MOS was designed to be a weapon first. I wanted to give her a more developed personality layer, but the company I worked for rejected the idea.

Oh...that's pretty tough. I used to act kinda like her, after I was first activated. I guess I was hopin' she'd learn the same kinda things in time.
