[When the feed comes on, it's a face people in the tower might have recognized at one point. By now, Feferi's an adult troll, who looks like she's 11 sweeps (roughly 25 Earth years) old, not the teenager that would normally appear. There's no sign of the necklaces she used to wear, and the only sign of her place in troll society is the tiny sign on her tiara, which she's had remade over time.]

Are we reely having new arrivals again? It's been so long, I'd almost forgotten what it was like...it's been sweeps and sweeps.

If you're just now arriving...I hesitate to say welcome. This isn't the kind of plaice anyguppy wants to wind up coming to, and I say that having been here for sweeps now.

It's dangerous here, for reasons that include monsters both human - the admins - and inhuman. But there are a lot of us who have been in this plaice for a very long time, and we're glad to kelp if you need anyfin at all. I'm Feferi, and if I'm not answering the network, I can usually be found in the aquarium, the pool, or the meadow. Please feel free to come find me.

Maybe it's time you passed on the old stat charts to one of those bright-eyed new guppies. It'll give them somefin to do besides poking the monsters with sticks and seeing how fast they get turned into something's lunch.

It does suck. I'd hate to be in their plaice right now.

I dunno - that's an important character building experience and it'd be awful of me to rob them of it! I mean, nobody who's actually went near a Deathclaw ever asks why why they're called Deathclaws, right?

[Lancer doesn't remember Feferi very well, but they've met a few times over the several years that he remembers. However, he can recall her looking just a little younger.]

[She smiles, nodding.]

Me? I'm fine. Probably going to make a sweep down through the most popular places near water here in a bit and make shore none of the reely nasty stuff is out today. It'll keep people away from the animals that look scary but are harmless, at the very least.

That sounds like a good idea. Though, you probably only need to do it for the newbies.

[Because most of the old faces in the Tower had long gotten used to it.]

Yeah, I figure anyone who's been here as long as we have knows what's safe to be around and what's actually dangerous. But the new folks won't necessarily know that you can swim with most things just fine so long as you don't go poking at them with a stick.

Think they're gonna start bringing people in regularly, like they used to?

Been a long time since we've seen that kind of troububble. It almost makes me feel nostalgic. Who'd have thought the day would come where I'd feel nostalgic for the chance to bail a new kid out of a problem?

Yeah, that sounds great. Just don't end up getting into a fight over who save which newbie. Quite a number of us are action-starved.

Pokey, lucky (or not, perhaps) has managed to escape the effects of the event. It takes him a moment to even recognize the troll. It doesn't even dawn on him that it is Feferi until she says her name.

He has to keep it on voice just so he doesn't look too damn shocked.]

Time happened. It's actually kind of a relief, seeing as I don't -

[She laughs, but it's a sad laugh.]

Let's just say that if I'd been left at home, I wouldn't get this far. It's been a good 12 or so Earth years for me, since I got here. That's still pretty young for a troll with my bloodline, but it's still meant a pretty big change.

Twelve years? Since when have you been here-

[He stops himself, just making a small sound of irritation. That makes no sense. He just saw her a few weeks ago. She can't have been in the Tower for twelve years.

...Could she have been? Maybe it's his perception that's screwed up. He's already met Dave who's older now too, so there's a chance that it's not her or the Tower screwing around. It could be him. Maybe all his own time traveling and Mayfield had done a greater number on him then he had thought.]

...Twelve years is a long time. Has being here really been that much better than twelve years whether you're from would be?

[There is a long moment as he takes in the video and compares it to the girl he laid his eyes on earlier. There's a brief moment of glee and some hope and then...]

[Nope.]

[He still respects her to some degree, but she isn't her. And he will not be seen siding with another Empress while the status of his own isn't known to him]

Five sweeps is a lot of time for a troll to change.

And before you go spouting off, I still didn't lay a finger on the Empress. I was still a wiggler when she was here and I'm not an idiot. She could have eelsily culled me on the spot if she had a mind to do it.

Five sweeps hasn't passed. It's not been long at all since I made my presence known to you.

As you insist, Heiress. I had no intention of pickin' a fight today. I was merely experiencing a case of mistaken identity.

[Eridan's looking much older, as well, about the same age as Fef, at that. Gone now is the cape/scarf combo. He only usually wears one or the other, depending on his mood. Currently, it's just his cape. He flashes a smile, something that in his past was rare, but now was currently commonplace.]

I'm good. While I wouldn't wish this place on anyone, I'm pretty thankful for it.

Glad to see you haven't lost your smile after all these sweeps, Fef. It's your best weapon. Aside from our fighting prowess, that is.

I can't say I'd wish it on anemoneone either, but it hasn't been all bad, has it?

If I lost that, I'd be one step closer to becoming someone I said I never would. That's one thing I absolutely refuse to do.

Still think the warnings are a waste of fucking time. Half of the new shits are going to just end up overlooking this and ask the same questions we always end up having to answer again anyway.

If it keeps one newbie from going out and poking a monster with a stick when they shouldn't, it's worth it.

Besides, I don't mind the questions. It's been long enough that they aren't nearly as old as they used to be.

Being mauled by a monster is relatively a kind way to go.

[ kanaya herself has gotten to about fourteen sweeps, where she has officially gained membership to the Really Fucking Tall club. she looks tired, deflated, like the past fifteen years have pretty much taken the fight out of her. ]

Has it really been so long since the last arrivals? I suppose I haven't been paying attention if they've started it again. You'd think we'd make more of such an occasion, but then it's hardly worth celebration, is it.

It's nice to see you're alright, Feferi-hime. I haven't seen Genda at all lately... but I'm sure he's fine as well.

As for myself, I'm as fine as I'll ever be. I'm a little surprised about the new arrivals myself... but this place is still as unpredictable as ever, isn't it?
