On weakness

[So Nesir has been avoiding people for the most part, annoyed at the grief for Dax, angry at the fact her soul was trapped, but she's also going crazy with nerves about her part in the infiltration in a few days and she has a question she's been thinking about since she met Kuwabara.

She doesn't even have to pretend to look pale and worried]

Hello, my name do be Nesir Aeser and I do be having something to talk about. I do be aware that there do many people from many worlds here and we all do be different and having different strengths and weaknesses. But lately I did be coming across a worrying weakness and was wondering how many people did be sharing it.

Apparently there do be people who can no be fighting women. I do no be knowing if this do be some kind of curse, or just something in a different world that do be a problem. But I am sure I do no be needing to explain how people with this weakness are going to be in more danger than the rest of us, considering everything..

[As in: Ruana is a woman, Nesir actually doesn't care about most people, and is just interested in this concept, but it should be enough to worry others.] I do no be knowing if there would be a way to lift the curse, but I do be offering my help to anyone with similar problems who do be wanting to be overcoming this.

[Lancelot nods approvingly.]

I believe you have the right of it. Save in War, the two go hand in hand.
You speak like a Knight, and a wise one.

True, a Knight does differ from a Warrior, but not so much that it matters, in a manner of honor such as this.
It is no shame to be a squire-- an acolyte, and to still be learning your path.

You've done nothing to earn disrespect from such persons, I'm sure.
Perhaps you should have them apologize publicly, in this way, when you've satisfied you honor.
chevalier_mal_fet: (it was well that he stood/said the child)

I wish you success, Nesir Aeser.

[At this he makes a bow of his head.]
I am a Knight. In Life I was known as the Knight of the Lake, Sir Lancelot.
Now I Serve a Master, and do battle on his behalf.

There are many here who seem to know of the Grail War. It is in this War that I fight.
chevalier_mal_fet: (said the child/keep me from all harm)

I am a Spirit, given form by my Master's mana and prana-- his life force and his power as a Magus.
He summoned me from a place known as the Throne of Heroes, where Spirits linger who are willing to fight, if called.

[Lancelot looks down at one gloved hand, flexing the fingers into a fist, then relaxing them again.]
Though here, in this Place, I am able to sustain my own form, and need not drain my Master to speak with you-- or to fight.

A Magus is-- a magic user.
[His own Master is a poor Magus, weak and ill, with a poor head for strategy-- they are ill-matched, still the man's the only Master Lancelot has. He'll be damned if he'll allow some Horror spawned by this place to consume him.]

When I was Summoned, I came willingly, for I desired to do Battle and to win Honor.

The Grail is a holy, mystical object that grants its possessor's dearest wish. My Master desires the life and safety of one he loves, a child. His methods do not show it, but his purpose is Pure.

It enabled my Master to Summon me to his Realm, and I did feel the pull of its Magic-- so I must believe on its Power.

When I was living, I searched for it, for a time. But the sight of it was never granted to me.
Tell me if you will, Nesir Aeser, what is it that you fight for, on your World?
chevalier_mal_fet: ('twas you saw/a foreign fever)

Running game on Berserker? YES. PRICELESS.

[Lancelot likes to think himself divorced from Passion, save the passion of Battle-- but he admires in the abstract the Passion of others. It feels safer that way, and keeps him at arms length from questions about Light and Darkness.

He nods in reply, his face grave.]

Your will is strong, I have no doubt, and whoever you might Serve will be fortunate.

But I do not know that there can be such a place, a place where no evil happens. Wherever there is Light, there is an accompanying Shadow. I have come to reckon that one cannot exist without the other.

[This one certainly has the fervor of a young knight-- one on a holy crusade. He has known the like, though he was never so pure himself, in purpose or otherwise.]

A powerless Shadow-- a high goal indeed. But if the Light would Rule the Shadow, then surely the Shadow must keep some slight strength. Else, what can the light rule?

I have found that there need be no Dark God for man to bring about misery and suffering. He brings it upon himself just as surely.
chevalier_mal_fet: ('twas you saw/and have no shadow)

[personal profile] chevalier_mal_fet 2013-03-27 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. That is indeed where it lies-- the Heart is where light casts its deepest shadows.

[Though he seems weighed down for a long moment, in the end, Lancelot sighs with an air of resignation-- and a certain wry appreciation for the young Lady's words.]

It seems the Light does not have a shy Champion in you, Nesir Aeser. I have no doubt you will tolerate nothing less than what you desire to bring about. If your bold unwillingness to suffer fools is any measure.
chevalier_mal_fet: (said the knight/how can I get a share)

[personal profile] chevalier_mal_fet 2013-03-28 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I can see that much is true. You seem full of desire to prove your mettle-- in this place, or indeed any other.

[Fierce temperaments in his fellows have always pleased and entertained him. He gives a slight smile.]

If it would suit you, seek me out. The sword is my weapon, and I will spar against you at your pleasure. You need not fear I would condescend to spare or underestimate you.
chevalier_mal_fet: ('twas you saw/and have no shadow)

[personal profile] chevalier_mal_fet 2013-03-29 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, long versus short-ranged weapons. A good challenge for us both, then.

I look forward to our meeting then, Nesir Aeser-- and to hearing of your answer to your detractor.
[Lancelot inclines his head to the screen, still smiling slightly.]
With your leave, I will bid you farewell until then, as I have duties to perform in Service to my Master.

I thank you for a most-- stimulating conversation.
chevalier_mal_fet: ('twas you saw/sighing for one more sight)

We really should have a spar-- haha, or at least handwave one in!

[personal profile] chevalier_mal_fet 2013-03-30 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Until then, Nesir Aeser.
[And just like that-- he was gone.]
