video/voice- [The cafeteria]
Lavender meatballs and lavender sauce; sunflower pasta salad; squash blossom soup...
[He frowned as he repeats the words from this month's menu. Why the damn flower theme? Do people actually eat this? Thorin dispised the menu. Flowers were too elvish for his liking.]
Is anyone actually eating this? Nay, I would rather kill a deer on Floor Thirty Two than ruin my palette with this....food. Flowers are for gardens, not for eating. Whoever thought of this idea is obviously [an elf.] strange. What if you do not like flowers? Do we still have to eat this? Surely, a meat stew could not go amiss one time?

[Tohko had almost no right to talk about how normal food tasted: it was all sand to her, and violet was just her favorite color.]
As for the flowers, they do say that April showers bring May flowers. Perhaps that's why the menu has so many flowers and vegetables.
Re: [Text]
I care not for what poetry this place offers. [Also, poetry? Elves too.]
[Text]
..It's not really a poem..it's more like a rhyme. But why don't you like it? At least everything is edible for once!
Re: [Text]
I do not favour rhymes of such a nature. I am a dwarf. We sing around roaring fires and tell tales of old.

[Diarmuid's smile is pleasant and welcoming. It is obvious he doesn't mean any condescension with his words. He is merely presenting a different point of view.]
Even if we do not like what is on the menu, at least there is something and that means the kitchen will be stocked with whatever is needed to make it. If you do not know, the kitchen is open for making whatever you would like with those ingredients. Feel free to take whatever you hunt and prepare it there.
[His smile widens into a grin.]
With or without flowers...

I understand what you are saying. Yet, the selection is limited in that it is flowers or nothing. Perfumed delights are more suited to a palette not of a dwarf. [His next comment made Thorin raise an eyebrow.]
The kitchen is open? I did not know that. Perhaps, I can fashion myself something without flowers to eat.

[Diarmuid laughs at his lack of skill for a moment before switching topics.]
You say you are a dwarf? Are you an acquaintance of Legolas' then? He and I have spoke a time or two and he mentioned the last time we talked that a dwarf from his world had newly arrived.

I know of Legolas. Did he mention me to you then? [Who else had he told about the great Thorin Oakenshield arriving to the tower?]

Back home I have rabbit stew or meat broth. A good hearty meal cannot go amiss.

The lavender meatballs are kinda strange, though.

[Says the man who is currently nibbling on a lavender cookie. Because sweets were sweets, and after all this time he wasn't feeling inclined to be picky.]

[He's going to just start making up flowers now]
And red bellied jumping junipers!
Why n-n-not try one? Ya only li-live once!
Re: video
I do not know if I am ready to taste such things yet. We dwarves have particular tastes in food.
Have you tried eating any of it? It's really not so terrible as it sounds. And I would think that you had more than enough of meat from hunting during Jason's month.
Re: [video]
Do you enjoy it?
I do. It's far better than what Jason serves us each month he's in charge.
