animus_network | One [VIDEO]

[A rather severe looking man in a black turtleneck addresses the network, oddly calm for someone who has just found out that his world was destroyed. He's a bit battered, having spent only a few moments on dressing and a hasty cleanup before heading for the nearest network terminal. There's quite a bit of dust in his hair, along with bruises and faint smears of what might be blood on his face and neck.]

My name is Howard Link. If there are any members of the Black Order present, please state your status and location. Anyone familiar with the facility, I would request your status as well. [Because last he checked? The station was pretty broken. Or well on it's way there, at least, and if he was pulled to this place? Well, there have to be others here.

He hesitates for a second or two before speaking again, glancing down briefly at something near the floor.]

... If there is anyone here familiar with the construction or repair of mechanical prosthetic limbs, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

[He takes a deep breath.]

Near the end of February marked my termination, so it's been roughly over a year already since I have been there. What has happened in that amount of time.

[Forgive any pauses while Link digs through his memory for semi-accurate dates. He's never been the history guy (that's Lavi's job), but he can give a general overview.]

... The Consortium tried to reclaim the station during... July, I believe, but they were beaten back. The station was damaged, as was Val. The tests got more violent, more like when the Consortium was in control. Some of the more technologically inclined worked on fixing her, but it took them several months. She was rebooted... around the end of February, and at the end of March the station passed through an asteroid field. The damage was bad enough that Val was forced to attempt a landing on the nearest planet she could find.

We were mid-crash when I woke up here.

[At least his assumption on them still fighting was right. The news however wasn't pleasant. If they just arrived mid-crash, then the possibility of the station being destroyed was there. This wasn't looking good. For now though, he had other matters.]

I see. Perhaps that was bound to happen eventually. Then I'll skip straight to any information you have on the following people that were there: Superman, Midnighter, Eddie Riggs, Hit Girl, Komui Lee, Harry Dresden, Bakura, [Only because Hei didn't trust or liked him.] and Lucy.

[Something told him he wasn't going to like the answers here either, but he had to know.]

[That question's a little harder since Link didn't really know most of those names personally, but he'll give it his best shot.]

I recall seeing posts on the network from Miss Lucy and Eddie Riggs shortly before the crash. I know for a fact that Komui Lee and Harry Dresden were terminated.

[His heart was hit with that. Lucy was still there, and he was gone for well over a year. Without Harry there either, this didn't improve things.]

I...see. Didn't realize those two were gone. They were good men, despite Komui's...motives for doing things. [Like the anti-pervert robot--

Wait, he knew Lucy? He needed to prod further.] And as for Lucy, how is her condition? Considering the loss of Harry, I can't imagine her doing too well.

[Link just nods quietly. Komui was a good man, and his death was a shock. Unfortunately for Hei, Link didn't really know Lucy all that well.]

I'm sorry, but I don't know. I only recall because she was one of the last to post on the network before the crash.

[That made sense. He frowns.]

[He's learned not to stress too much about the issue, less he lose himself again.]
