Hello to those I have not met yet. My name is Tear Grants. I am the companion of the two Luke fon Fabres, Asch the Bloody and Guy Cecil that have resided in the tower for a while now. After some discussion, I have decided to offer healing and fighting lessons twice a week in the meadow on the twenty-fifth floor. The first time will be on the 17th at 8pm. The second will be the 20th at 8pm. All are welcome to join me to learn. I'm sure that there will be other magic users and fighters, if you are not interested in learning in how to heal.

I hope that I am not intruding since we have not met yet, Lady Grants. However, as a former teacher myself, it always pleases me when another in the tower shows such an interest in helping the others trapped here.

[Diarmuid respectfully bows his head toward her.]

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it to you or not, but there is another man in the tower by the name of Hei who has been working to set up a training school of sorts to help better prepare people to live here. So far I believe he has only been able to run one session because of the...events...that so often happen in this place, but perhaps you would be interested in coordinating your efforts with him at some point? I am sure he would be glad to hear from you. It would just be a matter of how well your methods of teaching mesh with his.

[He pauses a moment, seeming to think about something before continuing.]

Forgive me if this sounds rude, but the magic of your world allows you to teach others to heal? Or are you speaking more of a general type of healing?

[Considering how strictly magic is passed down through families in Diarmuid's world, it always amazes him when he hears of worlds where magic is so much more easily taught. And while he has no magical talent of his own, Diarmuid knows that his friend may be interested in talking with her sometime since he knows just how much Waver's weak healing skills bother him.]

[Tear cocks her head to the side as she tries to think up a reply to this man's questions.]

Thank you, sir, but I am offering the people here the power to take back their lives in any small way that they can. I would do it for anyone and I have done it before.

No, I've not met this Hei since my arrival, but I'd be glad to speak with him if he replies to this message or finds me in the Tower. I can usually be found on the top floor for a few hours during the mid afternoon.

[She gives Diarmuid a tiny smile.]

You don't sound rude at all. I understand that many of our worlds are different, but on Auldrant you only need the potential to interact with the different fonons. How well you do depends on how much of that particular fonon your body can maintain. I-I think on other planets they're referred to as elements?

I would hardly say what you are doing is small. Offering hope never is and that is exactly what you are doing. For that, you deserve a great deal of thanks.

[He bows his head to her again.]

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. I don't know if Hei will respond to you or not since he is often busy, but I will be sure to pass your name and where you can be found onto him the next time he and I speak. Thank you.

[Diarmuid is very confused when she begins to speak of fonons, but after she compares them to elements, his confusion seems to lift a little.]

I have to admit, I know little of how the specifics of magic work. My questions are not for me, but a friend of mine. He is a talent magus, but he has never been that good with healing magic in specific, and while he would be the last one to admit it, I know it bothers him to have that weakness. I can't help but wonder if speaking to you would help him any.

I'm not doing it to be thanked. I'm a solider...or I was before I was kidnapped and brought here. It's not in me to be lazy and complacent and just letting things happen to me.

[She tips her head at the screen, since that seems to be some sort of social way for him to thank her. Even if she doesn't need it.]

I would appreciate your assistance in meeting with this Hei person if he is doing the same thing that I am. It would be counterproductive if we could not coordinate our efforts.

I'm mainly a healer with a few artes that deal with the other fonons. I can talk to your friend if he comes, but I don't know how much I would be able to help. Although, I do have extensive knowledge of battle first aid and a little of hands-on healing.

[Diarmuid nods in understanding.]

I know that feeling. I was a knight during my first life and so it was my duty to help others, though it was never really a duty to me. I enjoy helping others hence my joy teaching.

I will be sure to pass word onto him of your interest. Thank you for being open to this.

As for my friend, even if you can't help him, he is also a researcher and he would probably enjoy just talking about how the magic of your world works. I will pass your name and the times of your lessons onto him. He often loses himself in his studies and so sometimes misses things posted to the Network.

[The mention of a first life is confusing, but Tear's willing to let that slide so that she can concentrate on the conversation.]

I would appreciate to meet anyone new. Thank you, Mr Ua Duibhne.

You are certainly welcome, Lady Grants. One way to weaken people is to keep them separated that is why it is so important we all work together and not let the administrators draw lines between us. We each can work to balance out other people's weaknesses and become stronger overall.

I would be glad to help you, though I can't say I was honestly trained how to teach. Teaching is just something I learned through experience. Unfortunately, I have prior commitments that will keep me from being able to attend the lessons you have planned for this week. However, it sounds as though you will be continuing to do this every week now? Is that correct? If so, I will be glad to begin helping out with your next set of lessons occurring after the end of the month.

[What he doesn't say is that the reason he can't come is because his patrols of the tower are taking longer than usual since he is stopping to place a few microchips each day to help the resistance. However, the task will be done by the end of the month and so, after that, he will once again have his normal amount of free time.]

Aside from knowing how to teach people of all skill levels, my weapon skills focus on dual and single wielding swords and spears, with spears being my current specialty because of the class I was summoned into.

[Forgive him Tear. He has been here almost five months now and with all the other masters and servants around who are from some version of his world, he sometimes forgets that not everyone understands what exactly he is. Other times, he just wishes to spare the person he is talking to a long complex explanation unless they are really interested. If they are, he figures they will ask about it straight out.]

Unfortunately, I will not be able to help with any kind of healing. I expect the few skills I have to deal with battlefield injuries would most likely be considered barbaric to people of a more modern time.

[She flashed him a smile as he spoke.]

Any assistance you can give at any time would be fine, Diarmuid. You have skills that I don't possess, so it would be nice to have you there. Also, if things work out well, these lessons will be repeated, but who can tell with so many people in the tower at the same time.

Indeed. Not only the number of people in this tower, but the very nature of the tower itself and the administrators who run it make it hard to plan anything long term. However, if you will keep me updated on when you are going to be having classes, I will do my best to make it to them as soon as I can start.

My room number is 4-16. Please feel free to contact me there or by mail anytime you would like to talk about the lessons. Even if I cannot come to them right away, I would be glad to help you with any questions that come up. Most of my roommates are like family to me and the one who his not is still someone I trust completely. If I am not around, you may feel free to leave messages with them. They will be sure that I receive them.

[She frowns as he speaks the first part.] I've heard that was the case from a few other people, some whom I trust. I will keep that in mind as I attempt to schedule these lessons in the future. Thank you.

I have not had the luxury of actually conversing with my roommates, unfortunately. If you cannot find me, please seek out Luke fon Fabre, Anise Tatlin or Fon Master Ion. They are the ones that I trust the most in this tower right now.

[Diarmuid repeats the three names under his breath, committing them to memory, before nodding to her.]
